What happened last time they nerfed TAR?
...
Player base droped from a little less than 9k to under 6k, almost happened overnite. Sure the stability of the server was terribad and didn't help but what do you think will happen when the nerf to calogi take place, arguably the most common proto suit around, CCP will have no choice but to offer a way to keep the Dust playerbase willing to play because at this rhythm, its the Eve playerbase that will start to complain about their subscriptions fees going into a dead game.
Its this ^ or CCP just want all beta vets to quit just like the most of imperfects did. Thanks for playing the beta but you gotta go, you're too good jeez. A way to level by the bottom. QQ in forum until its nerf while theres no matchtmaking, play 6 months to a year just to get their plan ruined by new players that can't compete at the same level. Protostomp will be even more brutal, Dual Gaylock and fused nades everywhere.
Last time they nerfed the TAR, people realised all the flaws this game had. That won't change, ppl will quit, while those happy with the nerf will live another day in this game untill its their turn.
Sorry CCP, it might be fun from your side to play with numbers in a way to compensate from the lack of matchmaking but you gonna learn the hard way. The Mag way.

Actually, you know what, yes, give the respecs, that way re-balancing stuff should be a lot faster and easier, whatevver it is all those players flock to is what needs re-balancing. (Which does not automatically mean Nerf of course.)
I think CCP will have no choice but to offer frequent respec. That or they find a way to buff instead of nerf because psychologically, giving 10 cpu to every other classes is more appealing than removing 10 cpu (e.g) to the "most" popular suit. I don't know, buff scout or something, early sidearm for Amarr is a good thing and many knew it was an obvious tweak amarr logi needed way before uprising got deployed.
I was quite convinced CCP would balance things out by adding new powerful suit or role like Commando. Oh god I was wrong lol. |

And really, do you think the drop in players was due to the TAC AR nerf? I'd say it was due to core mechanics and performance issues. Respecs won't fix that and won't bring a lasting increase in activity.
Its hard to say if the TAR is the main reason but it sure seems odd. The timing is there tho. The QQ on the mechanics started right after the TAR nerf, it was a logical continuation. Anyways, its not like CCP is in a position to not listen and aggravate the situation.
ETA, i remember now that after the TAR nerf, vets got burned out. |
