Ok, so what does this mean for all the previous assault players that went to the Calogi?
1. Actually use the suit for logistics purposes only. This might work for a few but lets face it, if we are assaults, then that is what we like doing.
2. Stop using the calogi suit and spec into the basic assault class (which is based off the caldari assault specs). I believe for the basic frame I had to get it to level 3, and to get level 5 might be another million SP or so (not sure, don't have the specs in front of me). Either way it's going to cost a pretty penny to get the basic assault suit to level 5 to use proto, and without racial bonuses... the suits will be garbage.
3. Fully spec into racial assault. Yeah, that's what, 5 million SP or so? Don't know too many Calogis with that kind of SP laying around. Not to mention that the assault suits still suck since CCP nerfed them at uprising and took their extra equipment slot away in proto.
4. Stick with the Calogi suit and just ride out the nerf as a lesser assault and a crappy logi (probably what most will do).
Basically CCP's reasoning for the nerf was to get assault players out of the logi suits, but unless they respec (not going to happen) then what other choice do we have than to stick with the gimped suit? The only thing this accomplishes is keeping new players from specing into logi if they are assault players, but anybody already invested in the suit will be completely screwed.
I dunno, maybe this is just CCP's was of telling a lot of the veteran players in the game to GTFO and make room for the new players.

Hmm... not exactly how I remember things.
If they fixed their mistake of making the assault class so unappealing to assault players, then this wouldn't have been an issue.
I would gladly go back to assault if it had it's extra equipment slot back in proto. And now that it will get the shield bonus, it would be exactly what it should have been from the start.
