I have never like RPGs, That you have to grind to get SP. it's a strange place, Because the grind achieves nothing but 3 days wasted on a achievement... I can't not but stare, at people who said they competed(100% grind fest) a FF or some other JRPG, Thinking to myself well done... should he be kept by the tigers or the monkeys...? I really do like my MGS, I could sit in a box for many hours and enjoy, but Grinding?
Hell no!
people complain about everything, But SP gained in this game achieves one thing... not much. yes, there is a skills gap but it's not like all the SP is going into one class...
So I start the game max out my assault , where i'm I going to put my skills now? so, I chose to put my sp into a tank and max it out the worst thing to happen is i have two chooses when going into combat.
to get to my point is SP cap or No SP cap grinding is boring.

First, I would like to say you'll enjoy dust more when you stop trying to do nothing but SP grind.
Second, maybe you should put your skills into AV or something, AV is bad WP by itself, but it's helpful when you just use it as an emergency fit to pull out. |

Done. I like this, except for the problem that Dust is free to play and PSN accounts are free to make. Sure the terms of agreement state that you are not allowed to have multiple accounts on multiple PSN accounts, but how is CCP supposed to enforce that?
If skill points were entirely passive than might as well make as many PSN accounts as you can so you have a ton of Dust toons all keeping up to date with skill point gains. |

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but no game will ever please everyone.
If you don't like the grind in this game, I would suggest that you try to find a different game that IS more suited to your tastes.
There are plenty of FPSs out there, I'm sure at least one of them will appeal to you.
Good luck. |

Here we go again. Another stupid Cod comment. How do you know he plays Cod or if he even likes it. Maybe he would prefer to play another game other than cod. You do not know and neither do I. Also, who cares if he does play cod. It is his business and not yours or mine.

If you don't like grinding I would suggest running away while you can and make your way to one of other shooters on the market. Personally, while i'm not really a fan of grinding I don't mind this particular grind due to the game having EVE's skill system and customization. It adds a lot of depth for a FPS game. Sure it isn't on par with some RPG games, but for a shooter it is very good at that part. |

I was getting bored with the grind to. Even after a short time playing. I was lucky and found a good corp with loads of good people who are fun to play with.
Make some friends and run with them. Have a laugh and the grind goes away.

Well half of this, sort of.
Not active SP but SP based off WP's earned during game.
Also a buff to the passive.

been on this game for over a year, the grind wouldn't feel so great, if the game modes where there.

Actually I agree grinding shouldnt be needed just to get your cap...you can grind if you like but it shouldnt be a requirement.
Right now the grinding is so high people dont even bother. The SP cap should remain the same but the SP gain per game should be 2-3 times what we currently have. It should not take 10.5 - 11 hours to cap out your character. If this game is going to succeed this will have to be changed or the game will always be a small inconsequential segment of the FPS community.......IE Noone will care about it other than the couple thousand ppl who play the game. |

Here is an example that might illuminate my point.
John likes chocolate and coconut. John dislikes almonds. John goes to the store and looks at a Mounds and a Almond Joy. John buys a Almond Joy goes home and cries to Hershey about how he dislikes almonds. John is an idiot. |

Yea, Your right but that type of grinding is fun. on the other hand Dust 514 grinding isn't ,that's what games are about right? fun...
This game at the moment feels like a JRPG grind. I think it's about the game modes because all i'm doing is grinding day in, Day out. |

Thing is the grind in this game is extreme, compared to RPGs. I've grinded in all FFs, but it doesn't take months to get what I want, compared to Dust. |

So you don't like MMOFPS games then....COD or Battlefield maybe? I'm not sure what you want. I personally love the fact this game has Sp and skill trees. it makes it interesting to me. it is what keeps me in this game. if it weren't for the SP rewards at the end of the match I wouldn't be playing this, I would be on DC Universe. I like the fact that my toon is different from yours. I like that I have more skill in one thing, and you have more in another, it makes it more realistic. Watch top shot once in a while, they have championship marksman, but hand them a weapon out of their experience (real life sp?) and it takes them a while to get it down. Same here, you can hand my sniper an AR and your AR toon will eat him up, but hand your AR toon a sniper rifle, and I'll get headshot after headshot before you figure out how to steady the rifle enough to fire it. That's the draw of the game. This is why it is different from other FPS games on the market. Even without the Eve tie in it sets it apart. |

If it feels like a grind "day in, day out", why play? It's not like there's an end-game waiting at the end of the rainbow.
If you're just joining matches as the mini-game you have to do to skill your character, then the game you are playing is an RPG and not an FPS. A very boring RPG, at that. Get skills, buy equipment. Yay.
Dust is designed as a game where you acquire skills to get better at the combat aspect, not one where you slog through combat to acquire skills.
If you don't enjoy the battles then you're not going to enjoy Dust. Period. Not even when you've maxed every skill. |

Games are no longer about fun sadly, not just Dust, but the bulk of modern games. They try to addict you by making you grind as a way to force emotional investment. It makes me sad. In Dust its especially bad because it creates such a gap; this is because the skills aren't just to upgrade your character, but also to be able to use better gear.
I hate grinding as well. Anyone who says some stupid **** about CoD should go **** ********** ******* inside an epileptic cow's ****** while ******* a ***** unitard. |
