Did you put all your points into a weapon or vehicle and then the stat changed? are you raging you want a respec? CCP are you tired of all the respec requests? Want an idea that could work for both sides?
Per Skill Respec
How It Could Work 1. A reset skill option would be added to each individual skill 2. Users would get 1 reset per skill (excluding the very top base skills) 3. Resetting a skill would effect its skill and any direct skills that require that skill, thus give back all SP for that branch
Benefits to Players 1. They get a limited respec feature 2. They can get out of skill they did not like 3. They can test new content right away with little risk
Benefits to CCP 1. Each skill could have its reset options turned on and off 2. If you alter a skill you can give everyone a chance to reset that skill if they do not like the adjustments 3. Less support tickets on each change as players can back out of skills 4. You can track what player like and don't like based on how they are respecing 5. New content will be tested faster and players will be more willing to try it since they are not bound for life with such skills

Interesting I have yet to fall pray to such a situation but if I did then a quick respect would be nice. |

If we had the firing range I would agree with you but since the only real way to see the value of ... well... anything! is to actually use it I would say a respect would be a good way of saying "I'm sorry for f*cking you over"
After firing range comes out and you get to "try before you buy" it will be the players fault for specing into stuff they don't like as SP will not be needed to test the items. |

Looks like someone forgot to look up the previously-suggested idea of the "Skillback Booster" which is currently being looked into by CCP Cmdr Wang. |

That was exactly my reaction the first time I read it. |

They have already earned their SP.
They got it in the triple SP event while they were OP.
Now they can spend the SP on other skills, or save them for the next FoTM.
The FoTM strategy works very well if contests are offered when there is glaringly OP equipment.

so.... you are saying they should have gone all the way proto with out just sticking their toes in the water to test it out? no one is bitching because they only put in 16k sp you know damn well these people went all the way to exploit the cheapness of the weapon/fit/vehicle/what ever. thats why I say NO MORE! |

There are definitely multiple ways in which this issue could be addressed. The obvious one that seems to hit on multiple points is a testing ground of some but that is outside the scope of this thread. |

There are multiple ways to address an issue, while it may be similar in its desire to allow people to get sp back, it is not the same idea. |

So all problems can be fixed with aurum? Why does that sound familiar? If that is the case then the will be taking a "Pay-to-tolerate" path which I wouldn't recommend.
`sigh. What do I care anyway, this topic has already stopped being helpful |

I don't get what you're trying to say. Once item trading becomes available, you will be able to sell aurum items to other players for ISK. |

This. There is not a single reason for a respec in Dust. Because SP aren't limited. You want a new skill? Then just save your SP for it instead of respeccing. I have about 500k SP in a skill I don't use too because I made a mistake. But I don't whine. Instead of whining I saved my SP and bought the skill I actually want.
The sole reason for Respecs in every single RPG is because Skills are limited and you can't have everything. If you want to try something else you have to remove Skillpoints from somewhere. But in Dust you can get every single skill on a single character. Of course it takes time, but it's possible. |

This would be more vital to newer players that are trying to test out everything and waiting game is not something most new players are going to stick around for if they just spend large SP in something that turned out bad. I would also point out that I said CCP could turn and off and on as a option for individual skills thus only allowing it on skill that are new or have been changed. |

Can't use the "choices have consequence" arguement if all the choices aren't available from the start. Punishing all the scouts, heavies, and vehicle drivers who prefer a specific race is unfair. After the racials are out I support one last respec. This coming from someone Pro-Respec |
