I for one welcome the tears. It's a great reminder that my weapon isn't garbage anymore. If they ain't cryin' they ain't dyin'. |

It already took a damage and radius nerf compared to Chromosome. |

I can't run(lol) away from them without taking a reasonable amount of damage, and attempting to fight MD users usually results in them being out of my optimal range: all they feel is a slight trickle of my HMG. OK, I admit it: I like taking down wounded heavies who are wandering the map in a daze, having just survived a firefight with someone else. There they are, big 'ol elephants in the middle of nowhere or, even better, hiding in a corner wondering where their medic/repairer logistics supporter is (probably dead ... I should know, I'm logistics and I've noticed folks taking out the support troops first, then demolishing the heavy). Toss in a flux to knock out whatever shields, if any remain, then drop 'em with the Freedom MD. Celebrating the victory, I round a corner GÇö and am instantly wiped out by a pair of heavies. Yep, I should've looked left and right before making that fateful turn. Working as intended |

Seriously though its a god damned grenade launcher, its going to be powerful but at current its another noob tube like the flaylock but even more forgiving for those that cant aim for **** since they spam the ground around the target waiting to get lucky If you can't dodge a slow moving projectile or don't have the sense to run the hell away, then MD deaths are your fault. But keep bunny hopping, it only makes you easier to hit. |

ChromeBreaker wrote:Its hard to say anything about the MD because its main problem is it being used with Fleylocks lol
With hit ditection "fixed" MD's became viable again... im just not sure they needed the splash increase as well... too much happened at once and untill the fleylocks get flattened by the nerf hammer its going to be hard to see the picture clearly... This is another overlooked issue. We have people out there playing "Demoman" with the MD, Core Flaylocks, and contact grenades all at the same time and everyone thinks the MD is part of the problem because all they see are explosions with better hit detection. As far as the splash increase on the MD, it was severely needed. What's the point of using an area denial weapon if you can't deny an area? |

But keep bunny hopping, it only makes you easier to hit. Implying I bunny hop, its a habit I never got into since Ive been playing other games that punish you for that for a long time now Its also not that slow moving and like I said the large radius makes it incredibly forgiving and aiming for the ground rather than the person can also mitigate the slower movement speed since shooting short lets that wide radius instantly catch them The bunny hopping thing wasn't especially directed at you, just anyone that does it. Seriously, it makes my job that much easier. But you have to face the facts that the MD is an area denial, anti-rush weapon. Therefore, it's working as intended because it makes you think twice about advancing and scatters organized squads like roaches. They already tried nerfing the hell out of the MD's radius and look at how well that turned out. It's got the lowest DPS, ammo capacity, and one of the slowest reload times out of all the light weapons. On top of that, you need trajectory prediction and can't be under your target while firing. What other weaknesses do you want the damn thing to have? |

Son Down wrote:Yes...yes it is. The fundamentals of first person shooters rely on the ability to line up a target, and aim down the sights. As has been the case in every FPS since Wolfenstein, "noob tubes" such as mass drivers negate this, by allowing sub-par players the ability to be relevant, thus granting the "I'm good, look at me!" factor to talentless scrubs such as yourself, Cosgar. By leveling a FPS to the lowest common denominator (You.) it ultimately kills a budding FPS, as any seriously competitive player writes it off as "Newb Rubbish". I love how you have to resort to personal insults as if to sell your point. It makes your trolling even more obvious. Next time, could you throw a ball gag on me and call me a filthy w**re?
Delta 749 wrote:I know where you are coming from and Ive used the damn thing and it is a little over powered but all explosive weapons in the FPS genre tend to swing that way since you really do barely have to aim it I can run around and just point in someones general direction and unless they are completely out in the open Ill be hitting them and doing damage while the explosions and smoke help throw off their aim Its kind of like all the people that were bitching about the TAC, under all the outrage there were some valid points and some tweaks need to be made while keeping the MD viable which is more than is right now despite all the "drawbacks" that arent that major that you guys cite People are going to ***** about something no matter what. I'm still seeing nerf topics about tanks and even saw a few about the MD at the beginning of uprising. I've been using the MD since Chrome in pub matches, CBs, and barely got a chance to use one in PC because of the lag, but it's not as OP as people really make it out to be. If that were the case, you would regularly see MD users topping the leader boards all the time like the Core Flaylock. |

Protected Void wrote:Altina McAlterson wrote:People QQ because unlike AR's when you get caught by a MD user it's usually impossible to escape so they get sad and whine about it instead of focusing on not getting themselves into compromised positions.
Scrubs QQ. Good players treat dying as a failure on their part and come back and kill the MD user by not making the same mistake over and over again.
Of course CCP usually listens to the scrubs since they make up the vast majority of the playerbase. Exactly. I'm a scout, and more or less automatically die whenever an MD user lands a shot anywhere in my general vicinity. My low EHP and the MD's splash radius makes sure it's close to impossible for me to escape. My solution to this is to pay attention so they can't sneak up on me or stay away from them. A nerf is not needed, I think it's fine as it is now. TBH, scouts need a buff. You guys used to be the hard counter to MD users. I miss those dances of death that would either end with me killing myself or both of us dying while you only get an assist. |
