We all know and love shield tanking, but armor tank is soo underpowered compared to shields and shields last way longer than armor does unless you have the better gun than the other guy does and that usually isn't the case. Just like Killar-12 said in his post, there should be 3 additional plating: light, medium and heavy. but not to abuse them make medium and heavy start at level 3 and so on. also CCP can you add in some additional content for armor like armor resistance, energized plating, and hardeners for the infantry so armor tankers can live longer in the battlefield, I mean at least add something to improve armor tankers or add something to make them more resistant to a certain type of damage.
also about the 3 types of plating's for example: let light infantry only have the light plating, medium platings for everybody else and only heavies can handle heavy platings so light and medium infantry don't abuse the heavy platings and alongside that make the penalties for light 5-10%, medium 5-15% and heavy 10-15% or something like that so we wont be too fast or too slow during combat.
and in addition to the 3 types of armor plating can there be 3 types of armor reps as well, light, medium, and heavy, like: light reps for light infantry medium reps only to medium infantry and heavy reps only for heavy infantry. for example light reps give 3-5 healing, medium reps give 3-8 healing and heavy give 4-10 healing so we don't have to wait forever to get healed with our current armor reps that only give 3-6 healing. (I think)
I know im talking about armor but it would be nice if you added different shield resisters that made shields take less damage to certain weapon types like lazors, hybrid, and explosive dmg so that weaker players wont die instantly when faced against high geared players.(same goes for armor as well) |

healing nanohives are useful whether they run out in a second or last forever but not everyone has them and CCP should give more love to armor tanking. |

sure logi's and reps heal people but im talking about surviving combat without them and making armor tankers more effective and can actually challenge a shield tanker in any type of combat. |

even though that is true but what about when they add all of the other dropsuits that are missing from the other races and then when they add them in there will be a lesser amount of people using logi's, or what if people don't skill all the way into nanohives then there will be less repair hives and some to most of the time you wont always have that logi or random guys with a rep tool, so maybe armor survival is important when in battle and armor tanking should be just as effective as shield tanking just like how it is in eve. also even if your a logi there are those situations where no one has time to rep anyone at any point because of the amount of gun fire and explosions going on around the area unless your jumping around a certain guys repping him until he dies or just move on to another guy. |
