Two ambush battle. First against "her" and second with "her".
K / D + K / D
14 / 0 + 19 / 1 (Suicide, I think)
"She" was using a proto Caldari Medium or Assault with a CRG-3 and just had to be jacked up on catalyzers + Shields, because this bish was UNSTOPABLE! 
I only managed to get two shots (total) in "her", before getting 1HKO, everytime we ran into eachother, and cost me hundreds of thousands of ISK (using an expensive Carthum SP set-up) in one battle. I became scared of my surroundings because of "her". 
Not only that, but "she" just proved that scouts with shotguns are useless and that people saying hit detection is screwing you out of some of your shots need to:
STFU + HTFU + AOD + GG = because you just suck. 
I just felt like bringing this up because I just couldn't believe it.
I haven't see anyone do that well with a shotgun, since Genercide (extinct) and Shotty GoBang, bacj in Chromo.
TL;DR for the ADD babies:

Yeah, I was in there, too. I actually put a lot of rounds into that dropsuit, and only got shot in the face for my trouble. It hurt. That CRG-3 wrecked me, but no way could a scout suit take all the shots I saw that Cal suit soak up. |

I run a scout shotgun and get better scores than that... A 10 kill game is low for me in my scout shotty setup, went 32-12 a few days ago with it, your argument about scout shottys is invalid. |

I didn't only mention kills. I also mentioned deaths, which "she had only 1 of out of two battles back to back. "her" set-up is still better than yours in comparison, no offense. |

I do mine with a std min scout two complex kats and a k5 shotty, I bet my 12 deaths in that game cost about the same or less than her one death.

Yep. Like I said ... I shot 'em ... a LOT. They would not die. You can only backpeddle and reload so long 
But this suit was able to attack like a scout ... obviously without running that low HP that scouts get stuck with. |

I'm not arguing that a shotty on a med frame is bad, it's not, it definitely works, I just prefer the speed of the scout to do the job, I'll take the extra deaths for more kills and more speed any day, after all, it is a high risk high reward play style. |

There are lots of issues with hit detection that happen all the time. Anyone with any suit and weapon can poop on scouts (who aren't using core flaylocks) but its a different story when you're fighting other assault/slayer logis who are harder to reliably OHK with the bad hit detection and wonky aim acceleration in CQC.

Pro: shield and speed tank with high dps weapon, ability to fit mostly tier V gear
Con: enormous potential profile signature, slower shield recharge than shield tanked minmatar
Since ewar isn't realized yet in-game, there is really no argument against the validity of running a sg slayer medium frame.
But then again, doing well in pub matches while running protogear isn't the achievement you make it out to be. =p
Also, there's a good chance that all that tank made up for lousy hit detection. Perhaps if my point blank shots all registered my 14/2 rounds would be 14/0 rounds in my 20k suit.

It didn't matter if he (if pro-tip is right) show up or not. He ran fast all the time and killed most of us before we could blink.

I only wish more players had the character to step up and say they got legitimately bested on the field. I haven't seen this broad on the field yet, but I would like to say that I agree. And as far as hit-detection....I think thats not the issue. I think dust is just A LOT LESS FORGIVING when it comes to you being on target. You either are or you aren't and for all those guys that love to shot me in the face when we solo dance; Thank you and im learning. |

Two of the best Shotgunners in this game use medium suits Anne Oakley and Calamity.
Only thing a Scouts have are the Nova Knives, but thats just because of the Minnie bonus, Gallente scouts dont have much going for them. |

On a side note though, I run SG Scout, and I definitely have trouble when running into another SG user that is not a Scout, (1 shot kill vs. 3 shot kill with same comparable speed is easy math).

Not only are you making a gross assumption, youre doing so without warrrant.
Hit detection has been at an all time low since 1.2 came out and any scout will tell you that CQC is something of a miracle. Toss in potential abuse of a lag switch, especially after admitting toits use (read that three times so its engrained in your head before you declare accusation) and yes there is very much room for 'QQ' as you so crudely use it. |

Hey I met Hunter38 Storm a week or so ago, we were scoring about the same every game. I dunno about the lag switch, but I do know he is better than me with a shotgun. I only started using a shotgun a couple weeks ago, but its nice to hear I'm improving ^-^ thanks guys |

Befor you critisize anyone you yourself should run a shotgun for an entire day of playing dust and let us know how you feel about the shotgun then. The shotgun is good when the game isn't laggy but when it is prepare to die alot.

I fought a proto caldari logi from pfbh back in the day who was running around raping things at mach 1 with a shotgun. I was running gallente starter medic and it felt like slaying a dragon when I killed them. think I died about 6-8 times but I managed to kill them like 2-3 times. very satisfying if you can take someone like that down. |

Um did you stop to think that even if she missed a few shots her damage mods an higher hp allowed her to stand face to face a little longer? Or that a cal assault with more CPU an pg can use better and more equipment?

Well, +1 for giving someone else some props on the forum for their playstyle.
Basically -10 for everything else though....
I'm not sure how you come to the conclusion that because a medium suit with a shotgun and speed mods (which everyone has known since Chromosome is a very effective shotgun fit) does well, that means that scouts are useless with shotguns or hit detection problems are imagined and they just suck.
Hit detection is an issue, like it or not. However if you can afford to take a few shots with your shotty while soaking the damage of your opponents, this minimizes the impact of any 'lost' hits. And scout suits are pretty difficult to play, there is no doubt about that. And I'm certainly not taking anything away from medium shotty users.
But, your post is just off if you think that scouts suck and need to HTFU based on your observations (do you have any direct XP with the shotty/scout combo anyway???) |

This is old news, we scouts know this. Annie Oakley & Calamity Jane, would post 4-5 times those numbers in their assault shotty fits. I don't know about the rest of the scouts, but I play scout because it's fun for me & challenging. Easy kills, game after game gets boring(why I stopped playing COD, too easy). To each their own. As for the shotgun, the hit detection seems better these last few days. But unless you run one day in & day out, you can't speak. How about shooting 3 red dots, hacking an objective at point blank range, just to get no hit markers on 3 shots in a row & then shot by 3 said red dots & their bullets registered just fine. |

You waited a month to post that? I don't think "toon" gender really matters myself. You're already a fictional mercenary in space, your gender is a pretty small factor as far as "differences from RL" go. |

Why do people suddenly assume guys that make female avatars are sad lonely neckbeards trying to troll? Feel like I'm alone in the "Is she a girl or what? No? Well thats lame MUST BE THE MOST PATHETIC MALE MY IMAGINATION CAN MUSTER!" spam... Made a female character because of the possibility of having a smaller hitbox. Honestly I think the most probable candidates of being sad lonely men are the guys so curious about other player's genders. Your disappointment gives it all away. You waited a month to post that? I don't think "toon" gender really matters myself. You're already a fictional mercenary in space, your gender is a pretty small factor as far as "differences from RL" go.

Pretty much the situation. It never ends either. Internet tip: A male can choose a female character just as easily as a female can, and vice versa. Thing with scouts is that we can and will OHK anyone. but the reverse is also true. I've face speed demons before. and that's where my RE traps gets them every time. You want to OHK, well then move closer, and come to me. |

A scout is too weak now with a shotgun, a advanced suit would have under 300 HP if u used a dam mod, maybee 360 withou a dam mod an no armor rep, her assault suit could roll wit easily 400 shields two dam mods and have 3 kinetics or 2 an a armor rep.
Theirs no comparison especially when I'm almost sure he/she is using kbm.
That an a awesome Internet connection , zig zagging an taking shots, no scout can play that aggressive , they just wouldn't last.
Plus there's no way that suit should move better than a scout, hence scouts need a buff bad! |
