Once you hit lv 5 on your masshole skill, the blast radius is large enough to allow you to pretty much hit anything you're aiming at. Sure, the other 2 deal more damage, and have a slightly larger blast radius. But those are just sprinkles to lure you into using something can be too expensive to use, and fit.
Standard massdriver is best mass driver. |

actually yeah until you get your proficiency up I'd say the standard mass driver is the best to use.
after you do get it though it pays to use the black launcher  |

Yeah I doubt that will happen considering its only been working for a few weeks now. |

That's not the point. The point is the forum whine has already resumed, and will intensify dramatically once the flaylock is nerfed.
It isn't about what works and what doesn't, it's about the AR and what isn't.

Anyone who has used the Mass Driver pre 1.2 knows that that the EX0 and the EC-3 are absolutely sufficient enough when compared to the cost of the Freedom and Boundless variants. Paying (if I remember correctly) approximatly ~10k for your weapon that does maybe 2% less damage over a ~77k weapon is a tradeoff that I'd make any day. In fact, I'd go as far as saying the other prototype variants of the mass driver are so cost-inefficient that I can't think of any reason to EVER use them.
With the side note of a Core Breach Mass Driver that does a striking amount of damage to LAV's and Tanks... But I can argue against using it because the refire rate is so freaking slow!!! Thus my point stands. EX0, EC-3. The only 2 mass drivers you need to be 100% effective with the weapon. |

It's not overpowered because you can't kill someone in one clip (or one shot even) if they have any shields what so ever. Once you remove that players shields, then it is deadly; exactly as it has been designed to work. That's why it is not over powered like the flaylock is which can, and does, kill you in 1-2 hits (which aren't even direct hits...) |

Only against scouts.
The Flaylock only hits shields for 70% damage. Also, the shotgun can do this - even to assaults.
Now granted, the Flaylock is a sidearm, but that's the only issue that I see with the Flaylock. You can be assured though, that even if the Flaylock was a light weapon, the forum whine would be the same, and we'd still be here, looking at an upcoming nerf to it.
