I once again saw this amazing video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gw0gOjOWDuI and i was like " dam.... i wonder when dust will have matches like this" then i started to think about this "map" the big bridge where this military operation is in place, i thought in a game mode which i liked to call "fortress" or "siege". It would be like theres a certain number of null cannons like objectives that the attackers need to hack in order to UNLOCK the others objectives, basically it would be a skirmish but where the attacker can take only one objective at a time and the defender has all of them and need to defend these objectives as once taken by the attackers, it will be locked and the defenders wont be able to hack it back, they will need to go to the next objective to defend it and then it would repeat... Victory conditions could be : Attackers : capture all the objectives or deplet enemies clones : Defenders : deplet enemies clones or hold at least one objective until the timer finishes.
ps: when the attacker hacks an objective they would gain additional time for continue the attack. pss: And of course the defenders would have some advantages as for higher ground or turrets,etc.
suggestions are welcome. what you guys from the community think about it? what about you devs? ( please devs, don't ignore us ) |

I'd like to see this happen in P/C would make for interesting and tactical battles just one step forward to the amazing game dust can be.

Never seen that vid before but it makes current dust look so bad :|.
I like the idea in a sense, attackers have to try push forward from outer edge, the more ground they take towards enemy "base" the closer they get to winning. There is a lot of possibilities with dust it just needs work on its current state before it can think of expanding and having more issues. |

This is basically skirmish 1.0 from the early closed beta. It was way more fun than the mode we have now. I want it back |

I want it back Unfortunately it was also extremely unbalanced and let's face it with the current suits/weapons we have skirmish 1.0 would be a bloodbath and an isk sink due to all of our gear being flattened ehp/damage wise to accommodate the new guys. |

Great idea to mix in different genres to create more interesting challenges. Sounds like we need some new maps. |

So "Rush" from Battlefield or "Skirmish 1.0" from Dust 514. Lucky for you, CCP already stated they are working on getting this mode in. |

I never played skirmish 1.0, so I'm not sure how it went. I assume similar to now but objectives needed to be captured in a specific order?
One game I always liked was Warhawk's game mode that I think was called nodes. Basically like skirmish we have now but with more points and you could only capture adjacent points. The best you could do behind enemy lines was turn points neutral. It really made things feel like a battle.
I hope as maps get bigger we can get gameplay feeling more like a pitched battle and less like roving gangs like now. |
