Every pr0 knows not to put on 5 Shield Extenders on a Caldari Logistics due to the very long shield recharge delay tied with it. So they'll instead throw in an Energized Shield Recharger to give about 30 hp/s with about 550 shield strength. Now here's the thing, an Assault can get this amount of shield and shield recharge rate with 4 Shield Extenders, except now you are better at close quarters combat with an SMG as a sidearm and faster movement speed.
However I do believe that the reload speed bonus that the Caldari Assault get should be reversed to the shield bonus that the Logistics variant owns at the moment. I have a couple of reasons for this:
1. Caldari Assaults can simply switch to a sidearm rather than reloading in CQC proving the reload speed bonus to be useless 2. Caldari Logistics can't switch to another weapon which is why the reload speed bonus might be useful 3. Caldari Assaults are meant to breach enemy territory so therefore must take a tiny bit more punishment 4. The Caldari Logistics get crippled in a way with too much shield, paired with such low shield recharge rate this is why it's bonus must go to the assault variant |

This actually seems to be a feedback request to have the Recharge and the Shield extension bonuses interchanged, more than a "Assault > Logi" thread. I'm a bit confused.
To be honest I would support this idea, it would fix the Cal Logi Shield Overtanking problem while (IMO) it would benefit the Assault variant.
Because from my personal experience Caldari Assault is not that good. Especially when compared to Caldari Logi on Prototype level.
Right now Caldari Assault is not that superior to the Basic Medium Frame version... |

Before we make the already amazing Caldari suits any better how about we, I don't know, make the Gallente Assault actually get benefits to armour tanking?
And this thread really highlights the common CalLogi mentality. Completely overlooks the fact it's supposed to be a Logistics suit. Nope, let's not consider what it brings to the table as a Logi, the only thing that matters is how it slays. |

What is the detrimental effect of having a ton of shields? Your saying because you have to wait longer to reach your max HP, this is somehow a weakness and it's crippling you? So, when you surpass a shield strength of every other suit on the field, because you are STILL recharging, you're somehow at a disadvantage?
I see how a faster recharge would be useful, but I utterly fail to see how having a ton of shields is crippling you.

For example a HAV with 8000 shield and 24 shield recharge/s with no booster has a disadvantage, waiting until your MCC is at half shields so that you fully recharge is not viable. |

Dude.... when you put it like that, I totally see the hardship now....
Next time I see a Cal Logi maybe I'll give 'em a pass instead of a **** ton of shotgun pellets to the back. You know, he's got it hard - why make the poor guy's day any worse?

Ah yes I hope Cat merc's thread on how UP armor is get revived, in EVE armour usually has higher ehp than shields but lacks the ability to burst tank, i hope armour modules give higher ehp |

That's definitely much worse than my passive-tanked Sica, which regains all its shields in only TWO HUNDRED seconds...
(yeah, I built a passive-tanked Sica. There's a reason I named it "LOLTank") |

The tank thing I made up was a simile, but anyway do you ever try recalling your HAV rather than waiting to regain full shields ^ ^, this is the new way to passively shield tank HAVs. |

I'm surprisingly good at not dying with it, actually. And yes, there are times where it gets recalled and replaced.
It's unreasonably difficult to shield tank your HAVs, but it's also a little too easy to shield tank as infantry. Pretty sure there's a balance somewhere on both sides, but CCP haven't found it yet. |

You must be kidding. Caldari assault get a bonus equivalent to level 3 shield recharger at level 5. The Caldari logi gets lvl 5 armor repair module for free, as well as one more high and low slot.

Wow, just whoa ...did you just fell on your head and kept on bouncing?
So your saying if i would have 1000 Shields & 1000 Armor, i would be crippled beyond belief and after taking out idontknowhowmany i could kill in that 2000 ehp timeframe somehow recovering that health puts me at an disadvantage.
I ...i never really looked at it like that.
Well Daym man ...i wanna be disadvantaged from now on!!
I suggest you go play a scout, they have almost no Health, but recover it in a split second, no more disadvantage for you, because yer shields will always be full!!! |

You are now totally OP, with only about 5 seconds from taking a hit to being back at full HP for both shields AND armour! If you take a headshot, or a second bullet in that 5 second window, or something more powerful than an AR is being used.... well, that was your fault for being bad with the best suit EVER. Obviously. |
