"We're off to the races with an audience of core gamers," he told us. "So we're now entering our fast iteration cycle, doing monthly updates. A very tight collaboration with the community, as we've done with EVE throughout the years. -Hilmar Veigar P+¬tursson
So, ughh... 1.3 is already content locked right? *Walks away whistling* |

Now if you would like to show us some "collaboration", please do so, Mintchip doesn't count. |

Duck Drahko wrote:There's some insight here: http://hansshotfirst.blogspot.de/It may not be perfect yet, but ultimately it's going to be the CPMs job to handle the collaboration. You just can't develop a game in conjunction with an entire community, especially one as large and frankly hostile as this one. You'd go mad, seriously. CPM is fine, they're decent at passing our concerns off to CCP, the problem is that CCP doesn't offer anything back aside from "we'll look into it", is it too much to ask what they're actually planning?

And you should try keeping up with the Dev diary and/or checking out their Youtube page. The fact that he's asking for the same thing I'm asking for somehow translate into me not reading the article?
I did in fact not read it, I haven't had time to, but you guessed at this from the fact that we agreed with each other Are you a unicorn? |

No slow brain, I called it appropriately because if in fact you did read it, you would have mentioned that as "oh what a coincidence" or at least mentioned something in relation to the blog. That's natural human behavior. Please try and keep up. Again, the information is out there. Read and discover. CPM has been talking about improving CCP's transparency since they were formed, IWS, Hans, Nova, Laruent, they've all said the same thing, why should I be surprised? |

Even the CPM knows things and they aren't allowed to talk them with us. Also many of these secret fixes and details are talked over at IRC. So it's collaboration with fanboys, nerds and CPM basically. If you also notice their weekly update threads is just a list of things their looking into fixing. But why not just make an open thread here in general discussion saying "This week we're looking into fixing flaylocks by nerfing they're blast radius by 25%, please post on these threads your thoughts and discuss". That is what I'd call collaboration. You'll never see those kinds of things here.
-XOXO and there is a good reason for that =) I'll think so right, either way it's their game. Our opinion is not that important anyway, but I'd like to see those kinds of threads. I think I saw one from FoxFour about PC feedback, but PC isn't as controversial as nerfs, buffsand fixes. -XOXO Eterne says a flaylock blog is coming next week, now if only they did this for every other nerf/bufff, that would be nice. |

No, that has nothing to do with it The fact that we had absolutely no input on it means there was no collaboration, just like our input in all the past patches/updates was also non-existent. Now if you would like to show us some "collaboration", please do so, Mintchip doesn't count. Oh sure, they read some of our threads, but they don't discuss their decisions with us at all, and ultimately, they'll end up doing whatever they want, did they get their ideas from someone's thread? Did they just so happen to have similar ideas? Who da fuq knows, CCP doesn't communicate worth squat. They're currently looking at trying to balance the flaylock... yup, there's some hardcore "collaboration" going on there. When are they gonna announce their plans for it? 2 weeks? a month? Once 1.5 is content locked? Dude, you do realize that the changes they make are based on feedback provided in the forums, yes? Just because you don't get what you specifically ask for, or they change something in a way you personally don't like, doesn't mean that they aren't making decisions based on what they see in the feedback section. They listen to feedback they like, and ignore the feedback they don't like, all I'm asking is for them to discuss things with us. |

Yes, that's what this all about That's how you come across, that you have this strangely inflated expectation that you should get what you ask for. If that's not what you meant, I suggest you change how you say it. My problem is not with whether they like my ideas or not, it's has nothing to do with whether they get implemented in-game or not, my problem with CCP's complete and utter lack of feedback. Their cure little "Soon" and 'We're looking into it" is crap. This isn't a collaboration, no part of this game has been a collaboration, oh, they read these threads and some of their ideas go into the game? That's just great, how do you know it was because of those threads? You don't, you'd like to think so, but you can't confirm it, cause CCP never says ****.
The only thing I've seen them collaborate with the players on is the aiming system, and they've stopped doing that too.
You can interpret that however you want, but since you apparently enjoy getting ignored, I'll be ignoring you, cause y'now, conversations are a two way street.. just like "collaborations" |

We are too hostile. We want one thing one day and something else the next and it is not easy to develop for the PS3. Things we want are a addressed in the dev posts when they release them. If they tell us what they are doing and why then the half of the community that disagrees will rage. When they do tell us what going to happen then we start asking a million questions that have already been answered and then start trolling. The day after that the doom and gloom threads pop up and we all know where that leads.
Yeah, I do understand why they would hesitate to share their plans, but then... these are the guys who coined the term HTFU I'd just rather get the chance to discuss changes before they happen, then have 100 QQ threads after they make their changes. Obviously "discussions" on balance can get pretty heated, but I'm sure CCP can separate the QQ and trolls from legitimate feedback, at least I hope so... |
