Not too long ago, I would have agreed with all this, however, now I have seen the "honor" of the other races. And now I realize that honor is an illusion. I got into this life thinking that I would do what is right for the State, now I do this for the money, and for the joy of shooting an enemy in the face. If that enemy is another Caldari, so be it, if it's the Gallente, great. I am hereby proclaiming my independence from any government except that of my corporation. |

I have been raised to fulfill and sustain honor. My achura bloodline demands this. Honor is no illusion to those who allow The Way to guide them and teach them. A man or woman who has built their home upon sands instead of stone will always be susceptible to lose it. I have observed many who claimed the stars as their home. And they are forever chaotic, switching from allegiance to allegiance like a passed around tramp in null sec. But there's only one home for me that I will fight for. Money will not be my haven. If that is how you feel, I can respect that. But be not surprised when I eliminate you, when you threaten my beloved state, with extreme prejudice. I will be sure to give you honorable death since your life has been without it.
Honor in war? The concept is laughable. War is a gritty and very bloody business. If we were more personal, if our deaths had more meaning, I would see this as an honorable profession. As it is, we are immortal. So, hunt me down. Kill my clones. See if I care. |

One cannot understand when he walks not within The Way. There is honor in war when I wage war in honor of my State and for my bloodline. That is my honor. For the rise of my people, that is my honor. You are confused and lost. Dare you speak such pestilence here! My ancestors had made sure that I follow this path and follow it I will. And I will decimate each and every one of your clones if need be so that your poison shall not infect my people.
Follow whatever path you choose, this is the one for me. Honor? As the scouts said, there is none. And this is coming from a logistics. |

That's not an excuse, it's an acknowledgement. If you understand those who believe in honor, then you should understand why I felt your words insulted me. And insulted is even a strong word that I wouldn't use to describe it. It seems as if you were perplexed by the complexity of it all, which is ironic considering that most people consider me being so loyal to Caldari because of my bloodline, a complexity in itself.
I didn't rely on insults of your origins until I began feeling my belief was being attacked. Several mercenaries had shared their two ISK on the matter and the sentiment were the same from the opposing argument. There's no honor in the work we do. Yet my answer remained the same, that I do have honor in the work I do. That's is where it all broke down. You cannot convince me nor anyone else to think differently. So as you persisted to prod my beliefs, I increasingly grew tired of it.
I have grown to experience many harsh realities. Harsh realities and often comments of utter disdain for being a Caldari and for having my bloodline. Disdain for our methods. Our beliefs. Our will. Just look and listen. Hear them speak softly with whispers with words that wishes death upon the Caldari.
I understand what you're trying to do but that's where our communication breaks down. I am true to my Caldari way. I am stern and stubborn. Nothing you can say or do change my beliefs until I, myself, come to the epiphany.
I am more than open to set aside these differences and come to the a conclusion that we feel differently.
Perhaps I was a fool for trying to convince you otherwise to begin with, I apologize. As I said, my intentions were not to insult your honor or your faith, it is near impossible to move a tree with its roots dug deep into the ground, I realize that now. Far too often I see the people here stubbornly arguing how what they believe in is the best possible belief, Gallente, Caldari, Amarr and Minmatar alike. I am not saying that your faith is flawed or incorrect, what I have been trying to do here is to make others realize that their faith and ideals aren't the be all end all of everything and the only way, everything has it's merits, and it's flaws when compared to other faiths and ideals. I believe that there are many paths leading to the top of the mountain, not just one. Some might be longer, some shorter. Some might be easier, some harder. What path you choose does not matter in my opinion, but that you complete your journey to the top and not stray off the path. But I digress, the only thing we're probably going to agree here is that we disagree, and I'll leave it at that before I cause further enrage. Prataya yavati, sarumin Arck. Take no offense to these words but realize the truth, you wish to detach people from their faiths/beliefs yet wanting those to respect your belief as the absolute. What gives you the right? It is unfair to the person that you impose this upon. Think on that. Think of the Amarr who enslaved the Minmatar. Ask the Amarr, and they will tell you it was the will of God, the reclaiming. To bring light into darkness. Ask the Minmatar of the reasoning and they would say control, to use their people as workers and soldiers of their empire. So in closing, I harbor no ill will. It matters not what is fair only what is just and true in the eyes of God.
No, what matters is the fact that honor is a tool used by Empires to get you to fight for their cause, nothing more. |

Honor is a self chosen path. Even the most ruthless follow a code.
Ad yet, when you speak, you seem to imply that those of us who fight for money don't have a code. We do. Fight for the one that pays the most. And never turn your back on your comrades, as long as they are your comrades. It's not the most... noble of pursuits, perhaps, but when we fight for you, you don't seem to mind that fact. |

I am not concerned about your beliefs or your way, I only applauded my own kind. It is I that fell under scrutiny. Only my brethren understood what I was conveying. Why? Because this thread is for my brethren. What you speak is utter nonsense. I do not stand for such false accusations.
I was merely stating that your sense of self-righteousness makes you SEEM to imply it, not that you DID imply it, my friend. YOur tone was... confusing, and therefore, while I do not apologize for my words, I will apologize for the accusation. |
