Along the massive corridor wrapped around the main rotunda of the Intergalactic Summit station are many doors. However, few can rival the beauty of the one leading to the Amarran Cathedral of The Stayed Sword. Arched golden panels adorned and inscribed with intricate designs and scriptural calligraphy. As you pass through them you are faced with a towering chapel lined with columns down its length. On the far side are giant windows, looking out into the heavens. You can see ships of all races beyond, orbiting the Summit. Within the chapel, robed priests and clergymen scurry to and fro among the columns, running errands and attending to the cathedral's maintenance. Some are seen standing with non-Amarr, eager to answer questions. Along the central aisle stand vigil gleaming statues of saints and martyrs, their faces ones of grace and beauty. As you walk around, you see that the outer walls are lined with small, rounded enclaves for faithful to kneel before icons and pray, or sit in contemplation. The entire place shines with light, and is filled with reverent music.
This is a place of worship and enlightenment for all to witness in peace. |

*Metsar enters the cathedral clad in his ceremonial armour. Head bowed and hands clasped before him in reverence, he walks down the central aisle, stopping before the Altar of God. He unsheathes the sword at his side and slowly lays it upon the altar, the rubies of its hilt casting red reflections upon the marble. He then steps back and prostrates himself before the altar, his face touching the cold ground. Muttering under his breathe he lifts himself up into a kneeling position. His eyes affix upon the altar.*
"Lord my God who is the One and the Light. Thou who did form me upon the soil of Old Athra, just as Thou formed the All from the One. Dividing all things and giving each purpose. I lay this sword upon Thy altar, for this sword is I and I art Thou's. For just as Garrulor rules the skies and Frisceas rules the sea, do Thou rule over me as Thou rule over all things of the universe. Only in Thy service doth my heart shine with the Light, oh Lord of Lords. So unto Thy service do I pledge myself. To go where Thou wilt, to die as Thou see fit, again and again, until Thy purpose for me be fulfilled. Help me find solace amidst the flames and guidance before the Deceiver. Help me to overcome the heretic and the heathen, so that when I depart from the battlefield they shall know Thy name and fear Thy wrath. For I am merely an instrument of Thy will. Thou who didst save me when all else perished. Thou who didst lift me from the burning house of my forefathers. Thou who didst grace and bless my youth with my mother's wisdom. For these gifts I do pledge my life unto you. And though the golden throne of Athra orbits a distant star, I shall carry Thy Light where'er I tread. You... Lord of Lords..."
*Metsar rises and retrieves his sword, sheathing it solemnly.* |

*Metsar passes through the golden doors with Fae behind him. Chanting reverberates around the massive chamber, echoing amongst the pillars. He leads him to an enclave off to the left. At its center kneels a copper statue of a man, his hands clenched at his sides. The figure's face bears an expression split into two; one side pained, the other peaceful. Metsar begins to recite.*
"Which test reveals more of the soul, the test that a man will take to prove his faith, or the test that finds the man who believed his faith already proven? If you know this answer, then you also know which of these challenges bear the greatest penalty for failure. The gates of paradise will open for you one time only; woe to the soul who dares to knock twice.
To know the true path, but yet, to never follow it. That is possibly the gravest sin
Only through many hardships Is a man stripped to his very foundations And in such a state Devoid of distractions Is his soul free to soar And in this He is closest to God
Surround yourself with the faithful, Stand together, for there is no strength like it under the heavens.
All things were created by the Divine, and so the glory of our faith is inherent to us all; When thine heart shines with the Light, thou shalt know no hardship; When thine actions are in Light's name, thou art immortal."

*Metsar turns to look at Fae.*
"You are not nothing before God's eyes? Such is only for heretics and apostates. We are all his children, and He has a purpose for each of us. He hearkens forth from the heavens, urging and kindling the Light that resides within each man and woman. Longing for us to answer that call. To take upon us the mantle of destiny, and shine forth our Light for the universe to witness. The journey is long and arduous, fraught with perils and trials, but at its end is the celestial heavens. The return to God's embrace. Such an achievement is available to all peoples of all races, not just the Amarr. It only requires we answer Him in faith, ready to begin the road ahead. Each event of our lives happens for a purpose, each serves a higher call." |

*Metsar turns back to the statue and recites.*
"In the beginning all things were as one. God parted them and breathed life into his creation Divided the parts and gave each its place And unto each, bestowed purpose
Perhaps long ago God inspired your 'maker,' but ours is not an absentee creator. One who looks on at the machinations of the cosmos, merely observing what he set in motion. Our Lord is a presence known to every Imperial. A guiding hand through existence. Manipulating eternity. We call out to Him and He answers. I have felt it in my heart, time and time again. It was the Almighty that led your search of the children to culminate in my office. So that when events dealt their harsh hand help would be nearby." |

*Metsar looks at Fae with some slight sadness.*
"There is only one sin that is unforgivable, and by your words I doubt you've tread that path. Until then, the doors of heaven shall stand waiting. Anyways I thank you for coming, you may go... God bless."
*Metsar kneels before the statue and closes his eyes.* |

((For the Amarrans in attendance. Church and politics are intertwined to the Amarr, you can't have one without the other. The church is the government's bureaucratic department. The cathedral would probably even house a Theology Council office. Other races should open areas displaying their culture as well, like a galactic showcase. Caldari should have a Way of the Winds shrine, an Achuran temple, An Intaki philosophical school, Minmatar shaman or something, and for Gallente... .... .... ... I guess a nightclub?)) |

*Paladin Metsar enters the cathedral wearing more casual clothing than his ceremonial armour or military uniform, but elegant nonetheless. A deep brown tunic with gold and copper embroidery in looping Amarran designs across his shoulders and down his side. He is wearing black trousers with similar embroidery around the ankles, and around his wrists are golden bracelets. The outfit playing clear homage to his noble background.
He makes his way to the enclave of Saint Junip and kneels before the statue. With hands clasped he begins to sing softly;

Wolverine Canus wrote:Finishing his prayer he opens his eyes hear a new voice has joined the serene background melody, he pauses recognizing the voice as it was still fresh in his mind, he scans the cathedral head turning slowly for the owner of the voice. He starts to walk alongside the walls passing enclaves of statues. *Metsar finishes his hymn and rises to his feet. He kisses the hand of the statue of St. Junip before him, and then turns to leave the enclave. As he makes his way through the golden pillars to the central aisle he sees Canus. He approaches the templar.*
"Ashaltiasten Canus, how are you?" |

((Really are you guys pulling this info from somewhere or are you just making this up)) ((This is based in the lore, all the saints and such are from the scriptures and EVE canon, as well as the recited verses. Some things, such as my character's discussion with Fae, are from his own personal thoughts. But everything is drawn from and influenced by canon.)) |
