CCP are doing to Dust what they did to EVE. They're starting slow and ramping up. If that will end in success or not.. time will tell. In the meantime, the game is feature incomplete. This includes stats tracking I think it's easy to compare to other FPSs. Imagine a good FPS. Take away player control, make vehicle control terrible, lower the graphics, take away the campaign, lower average player count, delete most of the maps, and roll it back to 1999. Add micro-transactions. Bam, you have DUST. See? That wasn't hard... Now back to the question of stats.
I laughed really hard at how accurate this is, then immediately got sad that the game that looks like it has so much promise has actually amounted to this.

Add micro-transactions. Bam, you have DUST. See? That wasn't hard... Now back to the question of stats. The graphics are pretty good considering the lack of time spent with the engine. And forgot to add that the game is F2P, most of those 'features' that you 'removed' are there because of the upfront charge. Also, most FPS games don't that the player counts of the big AAA titles. The Free to Play excuse is getting a bit old now.....just saying.
Its funny, cause a lot of people I know use that excuse all the time when they can't legitimately think of anything rational to argue with. The funnier part comes with how you recognize "free-to-play"; That term alone only means that you can choose to pay at YOUR expense, which means that someone who has paid nothing will view "game upgrades" differently than someone who paid much more than was required to play (for example, some people who spend 60 to 100 dollars on this game). Was the game free to play for them? No, they contributed quite a lot of money. Can they expect to get the same quality out of the game as someone who contributed nothing? Absolutely.
This whole reason right here is my reason why "LOL b-b-b-b-but it's FREE TO PLAY!" argument is slowly becoming obsolete; expectations of Dust 514 are so ambiguous/varying depending on who you are and what you do with the "game".
