Raise the fitting cost of all equipment but incentivise each role to go full proto in their specialty, while remaining standard and advanced in other fields.
Keep racial bonuses to accommodate racial weapons and tanking types.
I posted this earlier in a similar thread. No suit should be without some sort of strength,and racial variants should be able to accommodate their strengths and weaknesses. I updated Assault to include damage mod instead of weapon.
Similarly Racial variants should each have some sort of weapon preference, and armor/defense preference.
Example: Amarr: Increased Energy Weapon Damage, Armor bonuses Caldari: Increase Hybrid damage, Shield Bonus Gallente: Increased Hybrid Damage, Armor bonuses Minmatar: Increased Projectile Damage, Speed Bonus
I'm up for more suggestions on Role and Racial bonuses. PG/CPU are made far more important in fitting a role than just bonuses, which should be left to certain races, which keeps a suit like a logi one far more efficient as an equipment carrier instead as a super assault. Now without racial variants, this leaves a lot to be wanted, but this IMO is a good balance. These would also require some slot reallocation to keep a slot heavy suit like a logi from going into super assault like it is.

I like it, but needs to be implimented alongside release of ALL THE REST of the weapons and baselien racial suits. |

I like this idea as well, but sort of think if the role bonuses are all PG/CPU related how it would effect other roles. For example the pilot which will need some bonus directly related to the performance of vehicles, or rumored crusader which is said to be a squad-leader type role that gives bonuses to teammates within his buff radius.
I definitely agree that these proposed bonuses would help even out the 5 roles we have currently, but would also limit the potential of more unique roles in the future. Perhaps if we keep this PG/CPU thing only for the roles where it makes sense. |

This is a very dangerous direction to go for two reasons
1) Severely limited roles, any diversity would have to be through major suit slot layout, which would also fix our current issue as well.
2) Bias towards high or low slots, your scouts for example, any high slot focused scout would suck under your proposal.
Reason #2 makes any cpu/pg bonus that is not equipment related bunked
You can work with your 4x4 racial/suit grids but your cpu/pg module favortism set up is not feasible |

It can go the other way and just give a straight bonus to said module types. It's just an idea to keep roles unique, but still flexible. |
