Snipers/Tanks staying behind the redline do nothing but hurt the quality of the game. I have heard or come up with a few propositions that would discourage redline sniping/tanking thus improving the quality of fights.
1. Earn no WP while behind your redline. You could still get kills, but you wouldn't be rewarded for them.
2. Time in the active zone is the only time accrued for SP at the end of the match.
3. Decrease damage output while behind the redline.
4. Kills behind redline don't affect your stats.
Any combination of these changes would drastically improve the competitiveness of game making the game better overall. Any feedback is welcome. |

Over 50% of the public matches I play are very one-sided, often we push them into the redline and still massacre them.
Why do you want to make their lifes even worse? |

Forcing people onto the battlefield would make games more competitive. Besides, getting out of the redline is as easy as calling in a few LAVs and dropping uplinks. |

Snipers and Tanks behind the redline are just as susceptible to counter-sniping, swarms, and rail gun installations as anyone else. In fact, I'd say I get more satisfaction from killing someone who just dropped out of their MCC. And if you can't be bothered to use any of those, why, killing someone behind the redline is as easy as calling in an LAV or Dropship. -1 |

The problem is that in a PC battle the only thing that matters is winning. If you can peg enemy vehicles from your redline, it doesn't matter if they cut your WP or KDR, as long as your team wins. The only thing that could potentially affect this is #3, and I'm sure you would just see a lot of tanks sitting exactly on the red line and scuttle back into it at the first sign of trouble. My idea of a fix is simply increasing the map size enough that the closest objective to the MCC is over 1KM away, keeping it well outside of railgun and sniper range. |

Why not place a timer on being behind your own redline area? Can view it as an incentive for a merc to earn the contract hired to do. If not out of the redline are then suicided. |

This was an idea I was thinking of. Either make it so that every soldier must deploy into the burnzone or as DS 10 stated, significantly reduce their damage. I know people are saying just use railguns or turrets but a tank redline sniper is a fickle thing tohit. They usually position themselves where they can overwatch for installation hacks and vehicle drops. They also tend to be in hard to reach areas where they can retreat with no chance of further harm. If a tank is above you, what sense does it make for swarms to fly into the mountain side below the damn thing. Modern day Javelin missles can lock onto a target and hit it from above, but the "advanced" civilizations of EVE can't make a smart missle. Makes total sense. Or if a person chooses to stay in the redline, every shot they take brings them up on the mini-map. Just a suggestion. |

Except it's an awful lot easier for a tanker to get away from swarms when he is tank sniping from his redline, all they have to do is back off behind something and they can't be killed. |

How about decrease the amount of ISK earned if you stay in the redline. That would put a stop to it for a lot of people. |

My vote; either make it hard/impossible to easily shot into the main arena of battle and return to the safety of behind the redline and/or give enough space behind so stealthGÇÖs (to come) can sneak behind and cause havoc. |
