I am just finding that I can no longer rely on anything I see in this game. Makes it impossible to make decisions because who can tell if someone is glitching, the game is bugging, just bad design or what the hell is going on in a particular situation. Some examples:
I decide to counter-snipe some snipers in a match and I find one on a hill. OK, I'm well within range, about one third to half normal sniper range. He's poked up well above the hill top and standing still, completely oblivious. I take a nice long time, position myself, aim right at his head, reticle goes red, I wait 2 seconds in case of lag then bam, no hit, wtf?
Aim at chest, bam, no hit. Move to another spot 20m away and closer, repeat, bam head, no hit, bam chest no hit. I watch him fire and move a bit, not a graphics bug, move again, 3 more careful shots, none hit.
Who can tell why? Is it the hit-box of the actual building I am near absorbing my shots, is it the terrain (he's not even remotely in cover) absorbing the shots. Is it some random glitch, is it the internet space fairies? Is he using some form of glitch? fu@&ed if I know.
Next case:
A sniper is hitting our null cannon point from around 100m away, killing left and right. I hunt and hunt and hunt, no sign of him. Finally I spot him, less than 100m away in a spot I had previously scanned, oh well. I don't have time to swap to sniper so I line up my AR on him and hope for some long distance luck. He moves and ducks down behind a hill, I know exactly where he is so I line up where I know he has to pop his head up to fire. Bang, a shot comes through the mountain, headshots me, kills me, wtf?
Did he glitch through the mountain, was he using invis hacks, no one appeared, he didn't pop up and snap shot me over the hill. Was it just stupid lag and he popped up, headshot me and ducked down again before my client had a chance to register him.
I could go on and on.
Tl;dr
Not only do we have to deal with LAVs and flaylocks and pubstomping and 101 other glitches but even when you think you have everything 100% perfect dead to rights the game just decides to malfunction...
