As the title states, what STD basic medium frame is best? I just need some insight because I plan to strictly farm ISK for the next month on a cheap fitting. I'd go with the free militia suits, but I want a little more survivability. |

I play a Heavy so I'm not too well versed in the other frames. However, in terms of modules, I have shields, armor, and damage modifiers up to complex and armor rep at enhanced. Everything else is not skilled into.
I have not skilled into equipment, but drop up links seem tempting to farm a little extra WP. As for weapons, ill probably sink a little SP into a standard AR for the 60 round clip and I have Scrambler Pistols and Grenades up to proto.
With what I have available, what cheap fittings could I focus and which frame would be optimal? The Amarr has very good PG/CPU, but the Caldari seems more balanced with the extra low slot. I don't plan on armor tanking, but the Gallente may be useful against Flux spam, but after looking at the Minmi's 3 high slots, it makes me wonder if I should strap it down with complex shields. Decisions... |

It seems Minmitar and Caldari are the favored choices.
Thus far, I've unlocked STD Amarr and Caldari suits. However, I may throw out another 25k SP for the Minmi. The PG and CPU of the Amarr really helps with fitting my modules whilst having enough for a drop up link. On the other hand, The Caldari suit can net me slightly more shields and armor, totaling to about 700 HP, but I will have to forego any equipment.
With the Minmi's high slots, I could probably fit 2 complex shields and 1 enhanced, but the low slot may have to be used for a CPU or PG upgrade. I guess I'll experiment a bit more. |

It gives you the closest thing to prototype health for other suits, only you get a kick ass gun (which unfortunately you'll need to spec into as well...... but oh well) and the feeling of being a badass when you take one three people and win because they just cant kill you fast enough. My HMG suit costs about 20k and ive got almost 1000 HP. I went 33 and 5 with it today and while in that scenario I do lose 100k, I make 250k back, netting me a 150k profit. This isn't as efficient as using a cheaper Militia suit, or some other thing that costs 2k per suit, but its definitely the most "fun" isk efficient suit I play with. so take that for what it is..... Umm... I'm specced into proto heavy already. I have some SP I've been saving for the new racial variants, but I'm a bit tired of the turtle gameplay.
I wanted to try something different and running cheap STD fittings seems to be my best shot at acquiring ISK for profit. As is, I am down to my last 30 mil and medium frames will give me an opportunity to try out different play styles. I guess another factor is that my first serious game running an Assault militia suit netted me nearly 300k ISK, 18 kills, and 20 odd something assists. The only problem was that I died too many times in the process. If I am able to replicate what I had done with the militia fit whilst having fewer deaths, then I think this minor investment into STD medium frames will be well worth my time. |
