You must be ********. Your blogs say we can make perfect soldiers - that would imply verastility. WRONG - HEAVIES COST TOO MUCH FOR YOU YOU TO EVEN GIVE US PLACE HOLDERS ACCORDING TO CPM.
Respond to me and explain to me why you think it's okay to launch an unfinished game - I'd love to know.
Don't walk on grenades. Use cover. Look for REs. Shoot the guy with the Flaylock. |

Why are you not using terrain, too? Why isn't your squad backing you up? |

If they can't find exactly where you are using the physical structures around you, you have a higher chance at avoiding death.
Why isn't your squad mopping them up before they get to you?
Don't run solo.
Don't spray and pray.
If you find yourself in a match getting owned by explosive, change suits. Don't over specialize. Adapt to the changing fight. Use other tactics. |

Adapt to the changing fight. Use other tactics. You make way too many assumptions. Heavies are a defense class that a MD, grandes, or flaylock pistol can remove completely without any skill required. Who would you rather defend your objective - a heavy with that many weaknesses - or a scout with a shotgun and RE whose only weakness depends on how dumb they are.
I would ask the scout to drop the RE's while the heavy falls back away from the damage radius and is placed in a position where he is not going to be forced to fight from every side. A heavy shouldn't be alone at a point, regardless, simply because of his lack of speed.
Heavies are not just a defense class. Yes, they are like a mobile turret but they need some form of backup. A heavy is more useful in tight quarters where he doesn't have to worry too much about being flanked.

Because explosives are the counter to armor. I'm not sure what you expect; you're dying to explosives, so you should be considering options as how to not die. Analyze your fights. What went wrong? It's not just that 'omg, explosives are op.'. They have a valid role to play. I'm assuming you're dying to explosives because nobody is helping you take out the guys shooting you. You mentioned that they duck behind terrain before you can shoot them; you're slow, it's going to happen, so what should you do about it? Should their weapons be taken away because you're being outflanked and dying?
Quote:I agree explosive are a natural counter - but for a game who bragged about customization - to offer no counter to it at all is weak.
I think this is where many Dust players have a problem; they associate their dropsuit as their class, rather than you, the player, being the 'perfect' customized soldier. You have SPs. Unlock other suits to counter that which is killing you. If you over specialize, you're going to be inherently weak against specific forces based on the nature of point spending. However, if you spread them out over time and pick up weapons and dropsuits, modules and so on, which allow you to adapt to the shifting fight, you will see better results. |
