Sort players into three groups.
K/D ratio > 1.1 K/D ratio 0.9 to 1.1 K/D ratio < 0.9
Now people who kill more than they should (>1.1) will be killing each other to balance out their ratios.
People with normal "fair play" ratios (close to 1 which means killing as much as getting killed) will be grouped together.
People with not enough kills (<0.9) can kill each other to match skills.
K/D ratio is the true indicator of a players skills and by mechanism it allows players to improve and "move up the ladder".
This will create a valid "progression" of gameplay of increase in difficulty if people are placed with people with similar skills.
This will make the game more fun as well since matches are always the best if both sides are closely matched. |

Not really, k/d does nothing to indicate skill with in a player.
1) I could care bear my k/d and get a massive k/d.

No.. it means that if i getting lots of kills in a match, i start to take alot of "unnecessary" risk, so i end up with something like ;
10 kills / 8 death. |

That's true, take sniper cowards for example, they hide like babies in the redline and tries to get easy kills with little risk to themselves while people like me love to get into peoples faces when I fight them like real men. |

LOL at the inevitable high KDR red line sniper war with two teams full of Ishukones and the 5 or 6 poor bastards who aren't snipers trying to take an objective.
I can see all the empty LAVs and tanks with corpses next to them littering the battle field now. |

And dropsip pilots or logibros will stuck forever at the bottom of your ladder. You know that in this game you don't have to kill people to be an important asset to the team right? I've seen people getting 1500 wp going 0/2, just by hacking, repping and reviving. |

I can see all the empty LAVs and tanks with corpses next to them littering the battle field now. I can be the only infantry and take all the objectives. I can solo win everygame with this idea. |

Urgh, this makes me sad.
Why not just get rid of the Logi class (and any other support builds) altogether.

K/D ratio is BS. If i get lets say ... 30 kills but i die 30 times.. do that makes me a bad player ?
30/30 will be a 1.0 ratio.
in the other hand, i could get 2 kills with a sniper gun and don't die once in every battle.. my K/D ratio will be very impressive.. but do that makes me a very good player ? |

I don't know what makes me a good player.
If I want to spam war points to solo orbitals I use this: Proto uplinks ,repair tool, advanced nanohives.
If I want to try to get 20+ kills in a game I do this: Remotes, proto nades.
Its all about using the right tools for the right job. Although all that gear just puts the game in easy mode. But I am just happy that I can still pull off a 2.0 kdr in standard gear. |

I like running with a 0:7 K/D in Ambush and still being a benefit to my team.
A good medic or support player can do wonders for the survivability of their teammates, and sometimes you don't need your gun - if your teammates are doing their jobs well enough. Usually I pick up at least a few kills and/or assists, but if I'm running any of my medic fittings, I'm not going to be breaking out of that bottom tier (unless I'm Squad Leader), even though I'll be quite capable of improving the K/D of my teammates (and particularly my squad) without helping out my own stats.
In a game with viable support roles, K/D isn't a valid matchmaking tool. |

Add more game modes with more choices imo. If I want to be able to run with people of 2.0> let me do that. If I want to run with only milita gear matches, let me do that.
Solution to matchmaking is implementing more choices for us, because there will not be any universal method that will suit everyone, so let us define more filters ourselves.
Besides there would be much joy to try and join the 10.0> matches in the hopes to ruin their K/D if they have the guts to risk it...

As far as I am concerned SP should be the matchmaker, this determines everything a player may be capable of. Logarithms for this can be easily created and as far as I know you will always get quite a leveled playing field.
if kdr is used we will see whole matches with dropships and logis |
