I'm wearing Minmatar scout (base speed 7,9 m/s) with an Enhanced Kinetic Catalyzer. Combining with Dropsuit Biotic Upgrades V and Kinetic Catalyzers III, I should have +16% running speed, shouldn't I? I think speed should be 9,16 m/s, instead of 8,99 m/s. |

the skill adds x% to the effect of the modules not to the speed, so rather than your module adding (8%+3%)=11% it is more like 8%*1.03 = 8.24% so your skill doesn't really change much at all.
so the calcs for modules are either BASE SPEED*(1+Sum of percentage boosts) =FINAL SPEED 7.9*(1+0.05+0.0824)= 8.945
OR BASE SPEED*(1+percentage boost)*(1+next percentage boost) etc. = FINAL SPEED 7.9*(1.05)*(1.0824)= 8.978
so likely the second. there's also some rounding that CCP do, and maybe a few things that i haven't factored in, but that's generally how they do it. |

Ok, what I feared most is true, that is that skill bonus is percentage of percentage. However, may I say these speeds collide with a sci-fi setting? I mean, if a man of our world can achieve 10 m/s, clones built for war with very high technology armors and boosters, made by the best factories in the galaxy, why can not they easly reach and exceed that value?

The second one is correct if you include stacking penalties for the modules. With only one module there is no stacking penalty.
Incidentally the bonus from the Kinetic Catalysers skill is terrible. 5% of 8% is negligible. It should be 5% per level in my opinion. 25% of 8% is still small and far from game breaking. |

While his second calculations is indeed how CCP does calculations, is the kinetic catalyzer and cardiac regulator skill bonuses really that worthless? How they do it for percentages is different so im going to have to test this. |
