Right now 'Stewie' is rotating IPs, Wasting 30 minutes, and making multiple accounts now.
Secondly there is a compromise between being secure and able to give access to the forums to players under reasonable consideration. This is why vulnerabilities exists in every software because you have to let someone access it. CCP wants to ensure they do not entirely disenfranchise anyone or overly restrict forum access outside of reason. So right now there is consideration in bumping up the requirement some more but to something reasonable and to something that would force our dear old bomber to actually put in the effort to play our game and wasting hours of his time.
Web, Security and Community Teams will continue to try to curb the behavior while making sure the new guys get forum access reasonably after shortly after starting the game.
Also as a Planetside 2 player on probably the most dying server there are massive massive foreboding flaws and design direction that game is heading down. With every new patch they put out the closer to battlefield insignificance the game is shifting just about and at this rate I can see Battlefield 4 stealing more players out of planetside 2 than PS2 is taking away from Dust 514.
The forums over there are lamenting much worse than we are atm over there accusing the developers of not listening to any of the players at all and doing exactly the opposite of what the game needs. For example they have been decentralizing fights when possible. An example Dust 514 side would be moving all the defender spawns inside Gallente Comms, and putting all the capture points for gallente Comms well and far beyond the outside of the walls of it. Then in the next patch move all the spawn points just as far away from comms in middle of the open. That's the current state of planetside 2. In an upcoming patch they're going to give 'every player' the ability to call in their own orbital strike whenever and wherever.
Yup,I think he went by Stewie360 on the MAG forums, and he was trashing Dust well before anyone was even playing it,and holding the sack of PS2.
I recently upgraded my PC and played PS2.At first I thought it was pretty decent, but the more I played it,but more I started to dislike it.The grind is waaaay too long to get anything good(about 60 hours to earn enough certs to get ONE gun),and that's done by design. It seems like the F2P model is to make the grind so long to get so little that you grow impatient, and finally cave in and use real money to even compete.Blacklight Retribution does this, and so does PS2.While Dust is a grind,I feel like the grind isn't nearly as long, and I feel like you get more for what ever time you put into it.
Now that being said,Dust has some MAJOR problems that it still has to overcome, which in all honesty,I don't think it ever will.I love Dust as a concept, and for it's potential, but in execution,CCP still has a very long way to go and in a very short amount of time before people move on permanently.
