Is still terrible.
I just got a battle where the team I was on was more or less pure randoms, while the other team was made almost completely up of 3 corp squads. Within a few minutes, all my team had left outside of the redzone was a pair of CRUs, both of which quickly came under attack by AUR HAVs.
This isn't a rarity either; there's almost always a noticable imbalance between the teams.
Hopefully this "improved matchmaking" takes squads into account, and not just gear. |

How is such a small player base going to get bigger when people don't enjoy being stomped by full proto squads when their team are brain dead?
How many new people do you think actually stay to play dust after battle academy when they keep facing unbalanced matches most of the time? Ratio would be pretty low... |

Either way, the number of players doesn't affect a matchmaking system that divides up teams. Right now, they're just thrown on a random side. |

New players play this game? All i ever see is beta vets. The chance CCP had for that was on may 14th. I don't see match making helping with SP gap. Player base is to small for match making noobs just have to take the ass whipping until they grind for enough SP. |

Fictional "Gap." Outside of PC... At 3 mill SP was pulling near 20 and 0... Just need to be smart with SP and teamwork. |

Ok i will play along is CCP going to have a noob academy for the game types we currently play? When will they graduate after how many SP gained? What I'm asking is how is this going to work i never played a FPS with match making. |

Think it's when you hit either 20,000 total WP or 2 million total SP |

One thing that does happen is one squad will see another squad and quit the match at the start. Simple odds should tell you that a new squad to fill those empty spots is less likely then a bunch of randoms.
This is why you come into the war barge with less then 1 min on the clock...more then likely a squad just quit the match...leaving poor random you to go up against a squad of protobears. |

Yes it will. Academy is always full. Look at the graphs...at peak they get 600 new characters per day. if CCP has a problem with filling the middle tiers then it can just segregate the noobs until they level up into them. |

Dude you know its all the vets creating accounts for academy play, dont be so nieve. There is like 1.2 million accounts created. PS2 bomber prolly makes 5 a day. |

Could be but then those vets really suck. When i last went into academy there were only like my self and 2-4 other players who did well each match everyone else was KDR about even or negative....plus no one seems to know how to take an objective....and they stare at LAVs like they are magic....and then try to steal them BF3 style.
But you may be right and it has changed since i played acadamy....If it is only vets now then dust is doomed. |

And yet were are they in normal game modes? I think we all know the answer to that. They get proto-stomped and quit after 3 matches.
I would also like to shout out my congratulations to Southern Legion who appear to be single handedly trying to ensure no newbie ever plays this game. Most proto stompers afk or chill once they've squashed the randoms team. Not these guys. They'll send 5 LAVs against 1 guy, chasing him into the redline over and over and over. Whole team of ten guys on the 2 newbies trying to capture 1 supply depot, no problems.
I admire their dedication. |

I don't think I've met these guys yet, protos I mainly see are "what the french" who just run around with proto flaylocks and mass drivers and maphia clan who sit proto tanks outside of the hills where no one can kill them lol.
To me it's more of how the games are always dominate or dominated, where did all the good intense games go? It always seems to be squads vs scrubs... I have played eve since late 06 so I fully support CCP but they are losing way too many new people due to this :( |

True, however, 4000 player base is dreadfully low.
