Congratulations to Clyffton Donovan, winner of the first PlasmaBall Lottery! Granted, he was the only one to enter, so he won a whopping 100,000 ISK. I'm doing the same thing this week, ending next Friday. Here's the details:
You can't get any ISK without a little risk. Transfer 100,000 ISK to this character by Friday and you could win the PlasmaBall Grand Prize! It's a raffle, so there's a winner every time! Remember, you can't win if you don't play!
Terms & Conditions: Exactly 100,000 ISK must be transferred to the character PlasmaBall before the downtime occurring on the date of July 19th, 2013. Only one entry per character will be accepted. The winner will be determined by random number generation, and will be announced publicly on Friday July 19th, 2013. The Grand Prize will equate to 95% of all ISK generated by the contest. The remaining 5% will go to the "my main needs a dropship" fund. |

The prize is 95% of all submissions. Given there was only one, I just refunded him the whole 100K. I've already got one guy, so if one more gets in the prize is 190K. Scales up like that. |

Well, the good news is we now have 3 entrants, ensuring a jackpot of at least 285,000 ISK. |

S3dINS Destiva wrote:PlasmaBall wrote:The winner will be determined by random number generation There's your problem! You need to use a publicly accessible result such as a national lottery bonus ball so people don't think you're using an alt to fake the win. I used to run lotteries and treasure hunt events in EVE and getting the masses to trust you is a huge hurdle. Be open and give as much info as possible. I think my first treasure hunt was a free to enter event and the prize was a drake BPO, and even though it was a free to enter event people were still calling it a scam, lol. People are extremely untrusting in CCPs worlds. Ah, but this is a raffle. There's always a winner. Thus, it's a bit more difficult to use a metric like that. |
