What makes CoD such a great FPS is that you can still enjoy yourself without having to get intimate with other players. (Squading up as you'd call it in Dust lingo)
What makes CoD even greater still...
Is that...when you do squad up.
It makes a difference.
Or maybe you've never had the opportunity to get dominated by teams?
There are only 2 things in CoD that make it less than perfect.
1. Not enough emphasis on damage in relation to where the bullets are hitting.
Foot shots are just as valuable as headshots.
2. Killstreaks.
People who are on killstreaks.. DO NOT NEED HELP!
Killstreaks snowball a match and cause players to quit.
Every kill that your killstreak gets, is one less player on player encounter.
I play FPS' to play against the other players, not AI rewards that are taking the PVP aspect out of the equation.
Other than those 2 points....
You just make yourself look like an idiot hating on CoD. You really do.
Because as far as FPS's are concerned...
CoD takes the most skill, simply because the killtimes are so quick.
If you have a brain and think it through, you'll come to realize that.
Games like Halo where kill times are in the 5 second range..
That's 5 seconds of forgiveness.
You make a mistake the game is giving you 5 seconds to recover from that mistake.
It's giving your team 5 seconds to come bail you ass out of your stupid decision.
In a game like CoD. If you make a mistake.
You don't get time to recover from it.
Means you have to be on top of your game at all times.
Map control, teamwork, killzones, etc.
It all translates into CoD being better than everything else out there at this moment in time.
But go ahead and keep fooling yourself into thinking otherwise.
Oh, and one last point to make on the quick killtimes point.
With quicker kill-times. Lag has less opportunity to interfere.
The longer it takes to kill someone, the more Lag plays a role in who comes out the winner.
And as far as BF is concerned.
Vehicles are cool.... when they are RARE, not when there is enough vehicles for every freaking person to get one and go run off on their own with it. I go into that game to play a sniper and all I get are players in Jets, Choppers and Tanks. Too many vehicles. Battlefied might as well be renamed into Twisted Metal.
The only thing Dust has at this moment in time...is a worthless time-sink disguised as RPG elements.
I'm sorry but Dust has no depth to it. Just as EvE has no depth to it.
And any depth that you could attribute to either of them, is purely player created simply because CCP left it up to you and your imagination to create that depth. And what did the community choose for their concept of Depth? Backstabbing each other and turning both games into a giant greifing contest.
If you were to take all player created depth out of the equation...
COD has more depth to it.
More weapons, More maps, More attachaments, More game modes, More equipment, More classes, More combinations.
So this fantasy world you're trying to live in, where you fool yourself into hating on CoD, because you think it makes you look cool. Is a lie.
And.. as far as skill and depth in Dust is concerned..
When a "Newberry" is dealing with more sway on his weapon and less health on his characters because he has less time invested than his competition....
Does not make for good game mechanics.
Are we here to compete against the players... or to compete against the ****** game mechanics that are putting me at a disadvantage because I wasn't there at day 1?
And you call this "A Thinking Mans Game".
I call it EVE fanboys getting entitled to free pubstomps in an FPS offshoot of their little universe that they dedicate entirely too much time and money too.
Sandbox =/= Depth.
Unless you think Sand is interesting.
Get real.
