Long term planning. Since Dust is not a typical FPS and requires currency/resources in order to unlock skills to enhance your characters raw, numerical statistics it would be a wise choice to avoid skilling very far into the current 'flavor of the month' weapon/exploit.

It's like when Restodoods in WoW were so hax between BC and the Lich King expansions, before being completely nerfed and brought back into scale due to their impact on arena/PVP. Many players were so angry simply because they had devoted the time to develop only a single class due to the exploit despite the obvious nature of the imbalance.

Adapt or die - which means planning ahead, too. It's obvious skills are in the process of being balanced actively in the live instance of the game. If a player chooses to utilize an exploit that is giving them an advantage, that is their decision. They will have to accept the consequences of those actions in the long term.
