Just a few minutes ago from this post.
Mode:
Ambush
Gear used:
Militia Amarr Medium Frame 2 Basic Scrambler pistols 2 Complex Dmg mods Militia Repair Tool
Battle Report:
15 Kills (I had the most kills) 9 Head Shot Kills 2 Kill Assists 9847 Dmg Dealt 3 Deaths
800 WP
3rd place.
And our team lost. Lol.
THIS is why I'm a scrambler pistol enthusiast. Because it generally used to use in a fight, but when you know how to hone its strength and dominate with it, it FEELS SO GOOOOOD!
This is why I warn you guys. Don't underestimate the hand cannon.
I just wanted to share. (n+íGùòGÇ+Gùòn+í) |

Thank you for this post.
I've been waiting for people to skill into sidearms other than the flaylock and tell us how good they are. A nice bit of evidence the game is more balanced than people are saying. |

I have 390 of IA5 Tactical scrambler pistol. I am going to begin using them hopefully a month or two from now before I transition to the PS4.
So any tips on using scrambler pistols and does the tactical variant have a sight or more range? |

Doc Holliday from the Imperfects was an absolute beast with pistols. |

That's alot of IA5s! (O_O)
I used up my 4 last IA5s, just to get rid of them. They are junk to use, if you can afford the better pistols. They do NOT have sights, which would have made them worth having, but otherwise its just a low end free pistol, to me.

I love my pistols and I'm glad you enjoyed them too. Get the higher level ones; the TT3 Assault is awesome but if CPU/PG is too little, the KLO does the job nicely. |

Oh. I have Lv4 Proficiency with them (Lv5 next week). I just wanted to see how effective the cheaper ones can be. Lv4 Pistol are generally the best bang for your buck, unless you rarely die using Proto pistols (which otherwise aren't worth spending 13K - 21K ISK on). |

Aim high and if they don't notice you, don't fire until you see the 450%, then just fire once, maybe twice.
Executing reddots is more fun than losing cause they think they're good cause they can hold down R1. |

If you can get past the low rate of fire, the TY-5 Breach is awesome. The damage you with headshots is insane. |

Stop talking about the SP!!! Once the whiners realise it can be just as effective as a flaylock in the right hands, they'll divert their tears our way
To be honest, all the proto sidearms are awesome once you adapt your strategy. They aren't "spray and pray" type weapons like the AR, but can be quite effective if used correctly. The proto SMG rocks too. |

TBH, I fear this too.
OTOH, we're actually a precision weapon that is well balanced (range, ammo before reload). We need precision for the SP to be worth a damn. We can't just spam explosions like the FL or the MD and hope our opponent dies. |

True...but while the flaylock user tends to get roasted if he misses, we have at least a few more shots to try and save our ass
Tbh, at the proto level I don't think any of the sidearms are really OP vs the other. They just require different play styles and tactics. |

Also for those interested in the potential dmg per clip these things can dish out.
Based on LV5 Stats (not including Dmg mods):
Carthum Assault SP
88.0 HP + 15% Pro
= 101.2 HP x 3.5% HDmg
= 358 HP per head shot x 11 Shots
= 3942 HP potential in one clip.
TY-5 Breach SP
134.4 HP + 15% Pro
= 154.56 x 3.5 HDmg
= 540.96 HP per head shot x 9 Shots
= 4868.64 HP potential in one clip.
And for the ultimate potential. The Lv5 Minmatar Assault with 5 Complex Dmg Mods and Lv5 Proficiency: NOTE: I'm assuming the Dmg mods stacking penalty is 50%. per additional mod.
Wolfman's PCP-30 SP
96 HP + 42% (15% Pro plus 5 Dmg mods reduced at 25% effectiveness per additional mod)
= 136.32 HP x 3.5 HDmg
= 477.12 HP per head shot x 13 Shots
= 6202.56 HP potential per clip.
TY-5 Breach SP
134.4 + 42%
= 190.848 HP x 3.5
= 667.968 HP per headshot x 11
= 7347.648 Who cares about potential. Anyone who isn't a armor tanking heavy, won't survive one headshot from this.
You're welcome. |

The only problem I have with Breach variants is the slow RoF. The damage is ridiculous, but if and when latency issues occur, landing direct headshots will be nigh impossible. Do not get me wrong, I am all for the Breach, especially the TY-5, but I now only use it for a chance to get one possible headshot before switching to my Assasult to finish my opponents off.
With constant frame rate lag on my end, the Assault has become more reliable as I am able to unload one clip into the enemy. It doesn't matter if my opponent is teleporting in between my shots. Eleven rounds in about a second is enough to put anyone down: headshots unneeded. |
