Hi all, I finally talked my brother-in-law into playing Dust. He hates controllers for fps' and I told him he can use a kb/m on Dust. After his first day he said the mouse control was slow and clunky. He already upped his sensitivity to 100 is there any other tweaks he can make to smooth it out? On a side note he has been playing Borderlands 2 lately, which is also on Unreal engine, and can't believe how different the two games feel. He is playing on PC though. Anyway any help is much appreciated. |

depends severly on the dpi of the mouse too, and the move speed of the class he's using. However.. here is what I did.
Controller Aim Assist: Off Controller x/y Axis Sens: 100
PS Move Sensitivity: 100 PS Move Deadzone: 0
Mouse Smoothing: Off Mouse Sens: 0 Mouse DPI: 800
And its pretty smooth and fast for me as a cal logi with no armor plates (4.7 MS).
I also just defrag'd my PS3... which helps my frame rates and aim sens a lot. |

One thing that's still unclear to me: Is it ever possible to turn faster with a mouse than with a DS (assuming both are set to 100% sensitivity)? This seems to be the core question to me. Because if it is, then mouse users do have a significant advantage after all. If it isn't, then mouse controls are inevitably going to feel slow and clunky to somebody used to "untamed" mouse response. |

This is exactly why mouse input is so jacked right now, mouse input used to be "untamed" now it mimics an analog with de-acceleration the faster you move the mouse the slower it goes.. So as average kb/m users are used to twitch accuracy and muscle memory CCP isnt allowing any of this to be possible with the current handicap they have put in place at Uprising..
Pre uprising DS3 and KB/M users were on a pretty lvl competitive field (this referring to the skilled shooters on either input) from what ive heard now kb/m is so handicap DS3 has an advantage. .
I can only speak for Kb/m I have adapted to the ****** response time and sluggish movements, but I believe CCP is still tweaking both kb/m and DS3.. |

KBM is still a bit off compared to what it used to be, but with 1.2 it did get an improvement. Turn off smoothing and up to 100 is (imo) the best way to go so far.
