You guys need to do away with all these caps. It's time now. Stop being such tight asses with the WP and SP. I'm pretty much done with Dust 514. I'm sick of being penalised for doing my job (Logi) I'm sick of waiting a week to start gaining SP again, I'm sick of the same modes on the same maps, over and over and over. I'm just plain sick and tired. It's time for some huge changes. All this capping? What the f*ck is this, the NHL? |

We were trying to make the system better and stop people just getting loads of SP, we didn't expect it to be such a terrible implementation. Currently to max our skills it will take 14 years. |

Hey, removing the cap sounds like a great idea. Now I can just AFK all day every day and still continue to get points.
+1 OP. Excellent idea. |

That's working as intended. You aren't supposed to be able to max all of your skills within a year or two, that was outlined before closed beta, and multiple times since closed beta started until now. This creates the need for specialization since you "can't" train everything. Any other system will function in the same way as it is a core part of the game. |

I may get grief for this, but it would of been far easier if CCP did away with active skill points in general and moved everything along to passive with queues for skills. That way no body would feel far behind despite how busy their real lives may be and the game wouldn't feel like such a grind, which is a terrible thing for a free to play game to feel like. CCP should really take a note from their own words, we are mercenaries and as such the focus of battle should be more focused on the costs and payouts and less on the skill points. Let's face it, the reason the vast majority of the people join battles is to get their skill points, not their ISK. |

Well they said it would take 7 years to max skills, needless to say that means our SP accrual should be double what it is now. Although the point of the system means you shouldn't be able to max all your skills it takes around 12M SP to get a decent mastery of your specialization, but that is 8 months of capping for a new player thats 4-5 months of putting up with Dust 514 brutal NPE. Yes you could buy boosters and cut it to 5.4 months but that would cost you $100 and since this game is not really P2P or P2W you shouldn't have to buy them to enjoy the game. |

I agree, but I am sure they came up with this system to try to appease the CoD crowd which needs constant and immedaite gratification for motivation.
Its interesting as well, because the PC Dev blog which came out said that they were surprised that people lost money and continued to fight. Meaning they expected EVE spreadsheet players? and were surprised they got CoD players? I'm not sure they know exactly what they expect. |

No but if you want to make 10K SP every 2.5 hours as long as you consistently make 1K WP be my guest. |

Firstly, no. Don't go on about passive sill queing or whatever Eve does. It's stupid. It's Dust 514 not Eve and it's fun the way it is now. For the afk'ers 5 mins and you are booted, no ifs, ands or buts. Sorry but your a *** if you afk and should stop playing video games because the point is to play not just sit there. afk'ers are too busy molesting small animals I guess. Anyway 5 mins is enough time to go to the bathroom, wash your hands and get back to the game. Opening up other planets in different parts of space and adding a sort of open world PVE would be badass and different worlds have different dangers and harder difficulties that grant better SP. I mean. Insanely hard areas where it would take a whole team to take down whatever. That could balance out the removal of the sp cap. Like this game has limitless possibilities and I'm feeling so... so.. limited. |

I have only 4.5 SPs, and I have a decently specc'd assault character.
All you need is basic frame 3, weapon 3, armor and extenders 5 and voila, decently specc'd infantry user.
Vehicles are a different matter, which I won't go over, those guys need a good large chunk of SP. |

The current system for SP is fine. If they should make any changes i would be most happy if they made it so you always got 1K SP While your capped (ya know so long as your not afk with 0-0-0) and maybe even you make 2K SP while capped on skirm and domination. that way you still are limited, but you can actually get some SP worth your while.
instead of oh you got 200 WP so thats 200 SP there you go. |
