To the Scrambler Pistol virtuosos, which variation of SP do you think would suit a play style that focuses on CQC assault?
The Assault variant, while it does net me a good number of consistent kills, runs through ammo like nothing. My trigger finger tends to go into overdrive whenever the crosshairs light up. If I didn't carry nanohives on my Amarr medium basic, I would not even consider using this SP as a main.
On the other hand, the Breach hits hard while it forces me to lay out those well-placed head shots. The only problem is that I am left open to fire after every shot. The tactic usually involves a lot of staffing while trying to keep the enemy within my sights, and against good strafers, I cannot follow the same tactic of unleashing my entire clip in one go.
For the last couple of days, I have put a Breach variant into my light weapon slot and an Assasult into the sidearm. With this setup, I use the Breach to land the first headshot and finish off my opponent with a quick flurry from the Assasult. This method has proved successful, but the change in RoF between weapons often messes up what tempo I have going. This becomes problematic for when I deplete both clips whilst engaging more than one enemy. It leaves me stumbling over which variant is currently in my hands, thus effectively ruining any tactics I have planned as I then opt to spray, pray, and run away.
What I am searching for is consistency, and as I become more well-versed in the weapon, I am sure consistency will be had, but to those who main Scrambler Pistols for competitive play, what variant should I really focus on? |

Imo the scrambler pistol is more about skill than mere stats. If you're good at aiming, you will crush even with the militia version (although a damage mod wouldn't hurt). It's a precision weapon
Personally I like the Carthum...and for some reason I salvaged a ton of Wolfman's which also rock
The assault's pretty good too, and not expensive at all. |

Personally I prefer the breach, it's feels like it has a much more relaxed rate of fire, and makes you make your shots count. That said I use scrambler pistols when I get bored, not as a main. |
