Does Profile Dampeners and Range Amplifiers affect just the radar or also the chevrons floating above everyone's heads? Thanks. |

Its the same, if you see the chevron you see them on radar too. |

Is that tested? I could have sworn I've seen many players in the past by the chevron on the screen when I can't see them on radar?...
I could easily be mistaken though!

G If they're so far away that they're off your minimap you can still see the chevron if they've been spotted by a team mate or yourself. |

also doesn't effect the sensitivity to line of site spotting I don't think. |

I still haven't tested this properly in Uprising, but in Chromosome, in spite of dev claims to the contrary, Profile Dampeners made a difference. When you're lit up, Dampeners affect how long you stay visible once you break line of sight. |

With level 5 dropsuit command, level 5 profile dampening and 2 complex dampening mods on a scout suit, I still got killed/spotted just as often while I was sniping as I did in an assault suit without the skills or mods (in chromosome). Afraid my experiences don't match yours and do match what the devs said. |

Recently I've been running across mercs that, while only maybe 30-40 yards away don't show up with a chevron when I look at them, either ADS or normally.... no other information shows either. Seriously, sometimes it takes a few seconds to even know if they are blues or reds....
I don't know what to attribute this to other than profile dampening... unless it is a bug. But, I didn't notice this early on in Uprising and only recently, maybe past week or two.
Has anyone else had this experience?

I use advanced precision enhancers and dampeners on my suit, statistically that's all I should need to effectively spot scout suits on my radar, while also avoiding them on theirs. But I don't know if its actually effective or not..... |

Dropsuit Command doesn't list reduced profile as a benefit anymore. I'm not saying it doesn't actually help since the UI is pretty bad at consistently informing us of skill benefits.

Why do precision enhancers give a negative bonus? |

It increases sensitivity so you can detect lower decibel levels. Your sensitivity needs to be able to detect lower values than their profile.
I think.

Passive scanners are kind of,,,, iffy right now
When they've fixed them perhaps it'll make a larger impact but for now it matters little |

This seems to be a problem. Either it's broken or we don't know exactly how it works. Can a dev explain? |

I have noticed that immediately after someone spans or exits a vehicle, there is often a couple of seconds that they do not have a chevron or health bars. There is no indication on whether they zee red or blue but if they are red then you can kill them. I do not know what the cause is or if it is working as intended but for now my default action is to shoot until they drop or I see blue bars. |

Right. Which is why I stated that my tests were conducted in chromosome when dropsuit command gave a 5% reduction to profile signature per level. Presumably, since there have been no announcements to the contrary with the introduction of the active scanner, the mechanics behind this have remained the same, meaning that during chromosome any affect profile dampening has on the appearance of the chevron would be even more readily apparent. |

That we have to ask is sad in of itself.
I personally don't think its working, and if it is it needs some design attention. Right now I notice no difference between my scout suit with damps, and my assault suit without. |
