I was thinking about a module that may take up a low or high slot, but which gives an AI to a specific turret on the ship, whether it be to a dropship turret or a HAV turret for people that like close encounter situations without random blues entering their HAV (this allows solo players to have a turret operational for assists, close to a sentry in other "class-based" games like TF2). I feel this adds a lot of dynamic interest to dropship pilots who wnat to make a quick run-and-gun DS without much tank, but with all turrets possible firing.
I feel the advantage to this is that it adds variety and use for turrets, and creates a new sink of SP for people who want to use small and large turrets. Another advantage is that it would be easy to script, since you could just copy the AI from the already existing turret installations and modify them to have accuracy or precision based on some variance values.
Any thoughts on this?

It would have to eat up a huge amount of CPU/PG, to keep people from crying nerf, but I'd still want it on my HAV.
I think a lot of close range HAV pilots would like this, and maybe have a toggle that allows it to maintain control of a set number of turrets/instructions. Not sure if a lot of restriction on this would be highly needed for CPU and PG. I Imagine it wouldn't be too hard to program since they have buttons on the DS3 that haven't been used yet.

I can't see how that couldn't be arranged. It would be cool to drive around while having an automated turret protect your every movement. It could be controlled to attack when someone isn't occupying that position of the vehicle. |
