I'd like to see something done to curb the whole protostomping that makes games so onesided.
Why the complex dropsuit mechanics?
Make militia suits as powerful as a balanced fitted proto. The only catch is that it is basic AR and can't be changed. No equipment slots. This would be the basic 0311 Marine Corps rifleman. You move, you shoot.
Then you have the standard suit which would be the no role suit but lets you fit equipment and tailor the defense/offense capabilities. However, fitting would be harder due to CPU/PG.
Then the proto suit would be the role bonus based suit with good CPU/PG to fit equipment and mods. However, you can't load up defense and offense mods completely. You can either go more D or more O. But, you can still have good D/O AND equipment too.
This way there would be a difference between raw assault power and versatility. The proto team would be able to put down the droplinks, nanohives and logi support AND still have decent D and O.
The standard suits would be able to provide links/nanos but at a cost of D and O.
The militia would be simple D/O balance and not be able to do anything other than run and shoot.
Result: Strat and mix of team roles wins. No more complex skilling up to too many tiers of suits. |

"Wahh i can't kill proto with militia gear" Fyi all you need to do is run and shoot, giving militia gear thestrength of a proto would once again bring out guys running 25/0 with MILITIA |

Proto Gear should Munch weaker gear.
But it shouldn't be used to munch on poor newberries in instamatchs who want to play casually with a levelish playing field.
FW/Merc Matches and PC should have no restrictions, as it is the upper tier game modes, so you can us what ever the hell you want to there.
But tiers that you could choice from when going into a queue would help ease newberries getting butchered by Protobears. |

Not so. Simply not so. Stop the epeening about game play and look at the product. The product is suffering. Your little game won't be here if you deny bad mechanics in the name of "just get better or something" mentality. |

No reason for gear to be all around better. Then all it is is what exists nowGǪ a gear game. Get to the top and then you can actually play a decent match.
No reason proto gear can't be better in one regard vs. militia being good at another.
If you bring out nothing but a bunch of militia you don't get droplink/nano advantage. If you bring out a bunch of militia guys then you will win one way which is brunt force vs. another way which is versatility by positioning your team.
Then no reason to try and tweak other matchmaking mechanics to try and properly group players. Everyone is geared for a fight from day one.
If you want to be a basic infantry rifleman then the militia suit is for you. A casual player can just jump in and go without getting in further into the game than they want.
The regular player gets to add flavor to the game by providing a role and make things less boring by grinding straight assault all the time. |

The only thing that proto suits have over MIL suits is slots and PG and CPU.
Otherwise, the stats are the same.
Just give an option so MIL users can get out of the way of proto gear through gear tiers. |

Proto gear is supposed to be better.
Dust isn't a lobby shooter. Well, it is right now, but we only have the core at the moment. It won't continue to be just a lobby shooter.
What we need, and all we need to fix these kind of issues is a better matchmaker.
Luckily, CCP knows this, and is working on it. |

Implying the proto user can't also run and shoot. I can't believe some people are going to sit here and imply that there is minimal difference from a Militia suit and a proto suit with stacked shield mods, proto AR and/or proto flaylock. |

limit proto out of Hisec (the instant battles) and PVE missions. That's solves everything. |

One if the reason that I like PvE, I'll admit, was that you were in god mode, and all you foes crumpled to your power weapons. |
