Gun Game = No one cares.
I use an AR, I will gladly admit that my "Gun Game" is average, maybe less and I still kill pretty easily with it. I'm glad the MD users have their toy back, they've waited a long time, and they deserve a viable weapon. Everyone deserves a viable weapon. I remember using one in chromosome...Good times, fun games.

If aiming wasn't such a piece of **** I'd agree with you but with this aiming and hit detection.... You gotta be ******* clairvoyant with strong ass thumbs in order to be sufficient with any rifle.... |

Do you honestly think if a mass driver shot straight then the AR and Mass driver would then be equal?
ARs do not have splash damage....if you miss you miss....with a mass driver this is not true.
Plus the damage is much greater with a massdriver then an AR. You only have to score one hit and a couple of splashes to kill a medium level/geared assault.
Also mass drivers can do damage over and around cover.
Note: I am not calling for a nerf here....only pointing out ARs have disadvantages as well when compared to a Mass driver. |

As an MD user, I find at least 1/3 of my deaths come from myself.

Now, I don't know why I'm giving away our biggest vulnerability, but to stem the tide of tears, I will gladly do so.
Splash damage? You think this makes it an easier weapon to use? Sure, we can fire willy nilly and get kills, but which sane corporation would want us in PC? I haven't personally participated in a PC battle after the buff, but before, I still managed to kill 2 teammates with my Freedom, out of a total of... maybe 10 PC matches. Okay, 6. 4 of them were unplayable due to connection issues.
And doing damage from behind cover. Yes this is true, if we have the higher ground. And ALL weapons can use cover if they have the higher ground. It's a tactical advantage in general.
The drop on our projectiles is so flat at short ranges that to hit you 10m away, from behind cover that protects my whole body, I'd have to shoot straight up and hope the projectiles come back down when you find me cowering behind a barrel. They won't come back down.
The best I can do is pop in and out of cover, launching a shell which deals solid damage each time, a tactic which can also be performed by all other weapon users, except it's easier with my splash. But I'm definitely NOT doing damage from behind cover.
Furthermore, our damage against shields is laughable. If I don't score a hit with my flux it will take 2-3 times longer to take out shields than it does to take out armour, and since my MD doesn't fire rapidly there is ample time for a shield tanker to get out and regenerate.
Our scope, too. It's useless. A projected laser that shows the path of our projectiles? Yes, that would be OP.
Reload speed? I've got Rapid Reload II and it hasn't saved me from shotguns to the face.
Clip size? If we don't have nanohives we're rendered useless, fast.
In a 1v1 scenario, I prefer to run whilst lobbing flux grenades behind me, and only if I hit with a flux will I turn and fight. If not, I keep running.
If we land direct hits, then expect pain.

Mass Drivers are fun to use & for me a distraction from AR's. ( which can only be a good thing )
This game desperately needs variation of weapons on the battlefield & as time goes on I hope to see more variety of weapons than vanilla shield tank AR.
As for skill, aren't all weapons point & click |

At distance yes, close range no. Close range is just jump and aim for feet, ARs have to at least keep Sights on while dancing. |

At this point, in all respect I have no idea what you're talking about. Ever since 1.2 dropped most people have been fairly happy with aiming, and for good reason. Aiming doesn't suck now, hitting things actually happens and bullets don't evaporate. At his point I think you're doing one of two things.
A - You're just echoing old, out of date complaints for...No good reason.
B - You're bad at aiming and this game in general. <-----Nothing wrong with this, we all were at one point, no offense meant here. |

Nah, this just isnt true. Hit detection in this game is still 10x worse than AAA shooters. Its mainly because of the fact everything is server side, not client. Your connection has a massive impact on your ability to aim in this game compared to others. A lot of times its pretty good, but it is inconsistent to say the least.
There is a reason that strafing can be so effective in this, where doing so s in a game like Halo usually wont net you too much (you still have to do it, but chances are the guy isnt going to miss anyway). This is the only game that you can see multiple people shooting at one dude running around and not killing on a semi regular basis, its not because the player base is so much less skilled, its because the server side hit detection causes issues. |

Do you have any idea how hard it is to hit that floor sometimes? It's been said many times before and I'll repeat it here yet again: the mass driver is extremely situational and the assault rifle is more versatile. The skill is in the tactics leading up to the encounter and know how to deal with the difficult situations you find yourself in.
Skill is more than just putting a dot on the target and pulling the trigger. |

Or... D: Some people have aiming problems as others don't. Just because you have aiming problems doesn't mean the rest of Dust has.
I've only had aiming problems for about 5 days after 1.2. Then it just turned out to be the way it is. |
