Lol I can understand why you rage, since you're a heavy who can't move out of the way. Maybe you should prioritize who you shoot at first? Take a ride with a tank driver and you'll learn a few lessons.
As for mass-drivers, this is the progression of events leading to the so called OP MD:
1. Mass drivers are given a faulty splash radius. Extremely hard to place shells correctly, given the fact that opponents are moving and the projectiles do not immediately hit the target upon squeezing the trigger (AR).
2. Everyone becomes a shield tanker.
3. Uprising 1.2 arrives! MD Splash radius is fixed
4. MD + Flux build demolishes shield tankers and armor tankers - dual tankers reign supreme over us.

If i were a misogynist i would probably make a tasteless joke involving the initial M & D but i wont. Anyway not sure how a females perspective has any bearing on your post but you comment about the mass driver is laughable at best. A proto mass driver is more detrimental in CQC then the Exo is and even then Pub data is irrelevant.
In PC where FF is on a sloppy MD in CQC is far more dangerous then the opposing team is at times and at range Mass Drivers are easy enough to dodge if you have the slightest bit of situational awareness.
Fact is Mass Drivers probably are the most balanced and skilled weapon in the game.
In close quarters they can be extremely dangerous to yourself and your opponents. At range you have to determine range for arc AND time to reach the target which against a good opponent can be dodged. Couple this with only 6 shots with 1s of time between each shot there is plenty of time to react (human reaction time is roughly .2-.3 seconds). Now add to this unless a person is runnig 1-2 damage mods they simply arent powerful enough to do damage to shield tanks so more often a good MD user will couple flux nade which means the range the user will be effective at becomes even shorter.
Now add in the improved performance of strafing a good player can keep a mass driver at distance and pick them apart at range. |

What if we can use the AR but rather use the MD as a support weapon? I can rep you while you shoot your AR and when you need to reload I can provide cover fire with MD. Or when we are out numbered my MD can soften them up and you can get easy kills :) |

- Since when did ARs take more skill then mass drivers? Have you ever even used a mass driver? Obviously not, since you think ARs take skill (which they don't) and mass drivers do (Last build, everyone on the forums actually agreed mass drivers required the most player skill. Mass drivers fire slow-moving projectiles on an arc. If you want to hit, you need to know the arc and be able to predict where your enemy is moving.
- Mass drivers have less potential damage than assault rifles. MDs are actually out-damaged when they don't have a tactical advantage
- Elevation is the bane of mass drivers everywhere. If your target is a significant height above you and their back isn't against the wall, your only hope is for a direct hit, which takes loads of skill.
- I said it before, but the round is slow as hell. At even medium range, people can see it coming and avoid it before any reasonable damage is dealt
As always, USE something before saying it's overpowered. |

I was referring to killer bee CaLogis as noobs. Haven't you noticed that the OP logi topics died down since 1.2? MD buff = more MD on the field and more MD on the field = more flux grenades, and more flux grenades = CaLogi being put in their place. It's almost like CCP knows what they're doing. |

ahhh but my mind is clouded by vodka.. i think now the lasers just need a slight buff, i dont see them anymore, but yea i have not seen the logi topic lately, which was a nice break from.
we still need them to block the entrances to a bases so LAVs cant rampage all about so i could actually get out of mine more to see your reference firsthand |

havn't had too bad a time vs, except when the terrain favors them, if you are on their horizon, you can sidestep their shot, but if their in good position to splash you..
but then i do stay in my LLAV much to avoid being roadkilled,
i've had some good fights with MD vs flaylock, it is usually pretty close and very dependant on the immediate terrain, but i saw a scout with one moving very fast, and very smart, very different, because he knew to just keep moving.. like did a bombing pass on me, twice without stopping to dance. he earned the kill. |

But I still wonder why Flaylock has higher splash damage than MD... havn't had too bad a time vs, except when the terrain favors them, if you are on their horizon, you can sidestep their shot, but if their in good position to splash you.. but then i do stay in my LLAV much to avoid being roadkilled, i've had some good fights with MD vs flaylock, it is usually pretty close and very dependant on the immediate terrain, but i saw a scout with one moving very fast, and very smart, very different, because he knew to just keep moving.. like did a bombing pass on me, twice without stopping to dance. he earned the kill.
That's actually a pretty badass strategy. |

The only reason the MD seems to be OP right now is because those of us who know how to use it, well, we know how to use it. It took us quite a while to become as proficient as we are, to learn the strengths and weaknesses, to learn what strategies we must employ.
If we come up against another player equally proficient in their weapon with equal level equipment it can go either way. |

Mass drivers are fine.
Mass drivers are responsible for over half the time I lose dropsuits. I play a heavy and they jack me up badly.
mass drivers take setup and situational awareness to use. they are difficult to aim. their ADS is worthless.
people who massacre with mass drivers are the ones who have been loyally using them as primary weapon since closed beta.
they aren't hard to counter. |

You clearly don't know what missile turrets used to be if you think flaylocks can compare.
On one map in codex build (lt was skim junction with the artillery, but it had a different letter setup than it does now, and the buildings didn't have fences on the top of them) I once called in a militia LAV with a standard accelerated missile turret to the top of one of the buildings, and then used it to completely lock down one of the entrances to the outpost, and fire directly where the hack panel on 2 null cannons across the map were. The other team tried firing swarms at me, but they all just hit the side of the building.
I didn't just scare people away from those NULL cannons either- I killed them from across the map.
You don't know overpowered unless you've been in the codex build.
Come to think of it, I didn't really mind the build when HAVs were godmode. Sure, AV was worthless, but it made things interesting. Infantry really only fought in cover, while between objectives there were always tank battles that I haven't seen the like of since.
Well, that may just be because I was a shotgun scout at the time and I enjoyed waiting in the shadows to pop people as soon as they thought they were safe from the HAVs. |

While I don't have MD Prof at lvl 5 yet they feel pretty damn balanced now. I don't think MDs need any more tweeks. At least I can connect rounds reliably now!

Dude- that just means that the mass driver is working- thank god! CCP nerfed this thing to oblivion worse than the drop ships - and even then at least the dropships had a functional use- the mass driver for the last 2 to 3 months has been absolutely worth crap- I understand you could be frustrated with the mass drivers ( scout combo) but it does take skill- Plus ifs still horrible against shields and, the splash damage does help against shields either - You still have to flux grenades and close range fire usually results in my shields being dropped - Particularly
