cmon ccp the dropships are nonsense i have tried flying each variant ,regular ,assault, logi there ridiculously fragile and have absolutely no ability to rack up wp or sp , if you wont buff the dropships then PLEASE reduce the price, the price required is ridiculous in comparison to a free or cheap swarm launcher or forge gun . |

I don't fly but I hear that, WP wise, there is no point in specing into them. If that's so then WTF!? |

They need reverse thrusters/braking flaps. As it is, there's two options: approach too quickly and overshoot a target or crash, or approach too slowly and get blown up. |

Drop ships are not meant to be flying tanks. It's supposed to be a flying bus. You are not supposed to fly about and murder the crap out of people on the ground. That would be a gun ship.
These are dropships.
Now, I agree that they need t have some manner of warpoint gain, otherwise, a lot of people don't see a value in picking them up. That said, they also are infuriating as is, and I will explain:
That are kind of hard to kill, should you not have prototype av. I find forge guns a tad challenging to aim, and swarm launchers have way too little range and way too slow of a projectile speed to be used effectively against them. Best I can typically manage is driving them off. |

It's not a matter of do they need more tank.
It's how much do they need.
The difference between the DS, and the HAVs is that the HAVs can hide and break the SL locks.
The DS is stuck to get shot at they have no where else to go.
A great way to fix DSs is to expand the maps so DSs have somewhere to run and break swarm lock. Or countermeasures.
In fact both would be an adequate fix, as countermeasures will probably have a long cool down, cough, shield boosters, cough. |

Many people here are arguing that they are underpowered...I will argue the opposite. A dropship, with a good pilot, overwhelms nearly everything. Swarm Launchers are nearly worthless below proto level given they can fly out of range quickly. They have better fluidity of motion than any other armor, increasing the difficulty of actually hitting one. And in just one match, I've lost three tanks because a dropship floated right above me, where no turret reaches while the gunners went to work. This is even worse in LAVs. So before they buff dropships, they'd need to buff swarm launchers. Increasing range, missile speed or targeting intelligence would be nice. There's a reason people used the Stinger in CoD: it worked. And without free fire, I'm stuck with a primary weapon that only works against armor (and even then, its effects sre negligible. ) |

Ok, first of all Dropships aren't flying tanks, but assault dropships are meant to do some damage, and get some kills. but honestly a dropship won't go to extreme measures and risk his ship for 1 kill. the most kills i have ever gotten with my assault dropship was about 8, while the enemies i killed got well over that number. (average is about 3). Next to appoint courier VII: dropships don't overwhealm hardly anyone. sure dropships don't get blown up often by swarms, but swarms can be scary if they keep pounding away at you, even advanced ones. Next forge guns blow up dropships all the time, dropships hardly get any WP and when they swoop in for a single kill, they need to go very slow, and be fairly still for the side gunners to get a kill, then 3 hits of a forge gun or a bolas and the dropship is down. Yes dropships are amazing at hunting down militia tanks, and other crappy tanks, but if you have a good tank all you gotta do is put on a repper and go under a building, or let your forge gun buddy take him out.
To sum that all up, Dropships are able to dish out a bit of damage, but they are most definetly not OP against you, or your tank (LAV is another story) and they are very easy pickings for forge gunners and railgun tanks. sure unless you have proto swarms you won't blow up a dropship, but you can still be scary enough for him to hunt somewhere else. |

Question are you a pilot? Because the pilots i know can use the cheap 120k dropships and with two people get a good bit of kills. Its the same with a tank or LAV the cheap ones are expendable but, the expensive ones most people only use them unless they have to.
Your right to an extent but there are some things i do need to add and change what you just said. Its true that the drop ships are like flying buses but how they are is up to the pilot. Sadly the standard dropship you cant really do much however you can make it so they can be a problem. Getting certain upgrades and giving it certain shields armor ETC, you'd be surprised how hard it can be to take them down. and the biggest worry is if they can spawn units within the drop ship from what i heard online the most reason why they are shot down is that once a dropship gets the ability to spawn units they can be a huge pain. They can fly and land wear ever and allow units to spawn withing the vehicle. Also believe it or not i do have a suicide ship for taking out heavy armored tanks. This method only works half the time and its not recommended unless you know what your doing and know whats going on, on the battlefield. I would pay 200k to make a craft to take out a 450k tank. Another good thing about them is that even though the gunners don't do as much damage but they are considered threats on the battlefield making them a distraction. Its hard to defend from 2 sides. Will you last long... probably not but, the increase chance of your team taking out the enemy increases. Now this thing with the forge gun a standard dropship yes they can be taken out with 3 hits but, It now comes to what they have on the drop ship. Example: My recon ship has the ability to spawn units inside it so i made it 2 shield extenders and 1 i think 120mm armor With armor and shield repair. Expensive yes very about 800k+ to make one. And it can take at most depending on the forge gun min 5-6 hits and max 7-8. and most the stats are at level 5.
Now the assault drop ship is somewhat different. In most cases they cannot take out a lot of enemies but as i stated before it depends the skill of the pilot and what your ship has. If your rocking out militia gear or low level equipment odds are you will not do much. But a skilled pilot they can take out a good bit before they die. Also going under a building does not always work a skilled pilot can easily go low enough and still do plenty of damage sometime they can avoid getting show down. I know ive done it before. unless there tank is made to turn fast most of the time by the time a tank moves its canon the other direction the drop ship would have already moved. And also wile this is happening im pretty sure they would have called backup by then to help take out the tank.
What the dropship can do...is all up to the pilot and what he has on it.. So all im saying do not think so lowly of the dropship they can be very helpful and i think the price is fine were it is. |

Dude a standard DS cannot take 3 FG hits, my 3k shielded LDS will only take 3. And a 120K D'S will either do nothing all battle or it will die, there are no other alternatives as even militia swarmers scan take them down with little effort.

Maybe youGÇÖve been piloting them in the wrong way. My friend recently skilled into derpships from prototype tanking and on most matches he ends up top of the leaderboard with; 0 kills and 0 deaths.
Our tactic is; Use Gallente Derpships. (Caldari ones are garbage) He pilots low to the ground while fitting out Proto Scattered Blasters for the gunners and the gunners fit out a Heavy suit with armor reppers. (as gunners often get shot out) Put the defend order on the derpship and start hauling in those WPGÇÖs. Also make sure you have a fitted Active scanner, Afterburner or Damage Control in the high slots.
Pro Tip: Swarms or Forge Guns can't get at you when you reach the ceiling. |

I don't care if they're made stronger or weaker, faster or slower. Just make them more maneuverable, so they can land precisely without swinging all over the place and/or blowing up because I didn't wait 20 seconds for the landing gear to pop out. |

Dude you're a ******. You didn't say anything worth a damn, and I can guarantee you're garbage fodder. I can't fly them, but that has little to do with this discussion. As for my CoD background, eat a bag of baby dicks, you ignorant **** stain. |
