From a strictly non-RP standpoint,
I believe people read slavery in the Amarr society and equate it to slavery that existed here on Earth. However, they share little in common. On Earth, and especially in the US where I've studied more, slavery existed purely as a means of labor. People abused other people because they believed they were an inferior race and could control them. There was never any intention of freeing the slaves, and many owners treated their slaves badly (though certainly not all).
In Amarr culture, slavery is less of a means of labor and more of a right of passage. The Amarrians' acestors suffered through extreme hardships many millenniums ago, and it shaped the society around them. They truly believe that only through suffering the same hardships they once endured can a race come to understand the universe and live in peace. The Amarr have no intentions on ever holding a race as slaves indefinitely, they plan to release each race after they deem them understanding of the world, and this is supported by their actions in the past. The Minmatar too would one day be free and accepted as equals among their society. Furthermore, the owners do not treat their slaves badly and in fact it is Imperial law that the slaves must be treated with respect. Sure some may break the law, but as do any in a given society.
That is the gist of my argument, but I can go into further detail if requested. I am not saying that I agree with this on a personal stand point, but it is not really all that unethical as you may think. |

A mad man would be Sansha Kuvakei, who would take you against your will, drag you back into his area of space which is God know where, subject you to horrible torture, and subvert you body and soul through the use of blaspheming implants and technological conditioning to make you little more than a singular obedient part of the Hive Mind....
A Mad man would be Charles Broteu who killed 59 in his rampage including the Ray of the Matar Karin Midular, who was of great spiritual importance to the Minmatar...
There are plenty of Mad men and women in New Eden however this implants that the Empress has are willingly taken into the body so that the Emperor may become and symbol of all of the people of Amarr, so that the shall know their leader is the pinnacle of the faithful and constantly at war with the Other. |

I'd perfer sansha take me than amarr because then I'll be absolved of "my" actions, I would only be a proxy, he would drag you to stain or esoteria to convert you. Unlike you, he rewards his subjects with advanced defenses and doesn't torture them. That one man being gallente has nothing to do with his rampage, HE hated their ray. Ah what better than religius contradictions, your current empress would be put to death but your people has lost their way, but have embraced the bad attribute ls. |

I do not see how you can be so blind as to rail against a pure faith yet defend Sansha Kuvakei when he is hate equally by all of the empires. Surely as a loyalist to one faction or another you must come to hate him more than the empire.

Because I recognize that a life of hard work and torture isn't as reputation wrecking as being completely influenced and rewarded for your actions, which do to implants you would enjoy. I remember reading that the only reason she is the empress is due to her implants, which would usually be a death sentence for those of pure blood, ehy does she not receive punishment for her heresy. |

The oracle is better for pure damage Imo than the talos because of range but the talos is better at solo and has more dps, this is basically the sumed up differences of gallente and amarr for most ships. |

I am happy to see the RP section finally pop up. I have never been a RP guy but I do enjoy reading the stuff people write. I am always amazed at the amount of detail people can incorporate into their pieces. I don't have much knowledge about the history of New Eden or it's races but it is fun to start topics to see where they go.
It is a breath of fresh air to see some posts that are not trolling and rage filled. RPing lets us focus out energy in other areas instead of only having a forum fire threads. I am curious if the IS section will bring in or hold people in DUST or if it create content.
It's good to see happy threads and not just more of the same doom speak. We may be a bunch of nerds but at least we will have fun doing it. I encourage anyone who has never RPed to go the the Intergalactic Summit section and just read a thread or two. New Eden is about the only place where a person can get this type of entertainment. We are writing our own story and we should try to embrace it. |

Also, the amount and severity of gallente citizens shafted is nothing to the amount of caldari doing the same thing, with a lower population.

In both scenarios both groups believe they are helping one another, yet the Gallenteans get special treatment for exiling Caldari sympathisers Intaki, treating them as second class citizens, not caring about the masses of poor and disenfranchised people they proclaim to want to support, and a similar imperialist dogma that they blindly follow on a matter of Faith. |
