This won't happen but i like thumbing my nose at CCP.
AI already exists in Dust. the turrets are auto attack. So CCP could make a mode where a crap load of turrets drop. Just probably needs a new model.
Also who needs AI when CCP could simply let players play the robots. Again just new models with dropship controls.
Just a helpful reminder of how bad CCP is at making games. |

The scope of loss and reward would be different, as well as the absence of player names. Also the battles would be asynchronous. Technically it would not be PvE, you are correct...but the excuse has been from CCP that it would take to much resources (resources that apparently is better used stalling and monitoring and getting really really confused about matchmaking for months and months and months at a time).
Players make a good cheap resource for AI and could be a stop gap. |

The whole point of PvE is to kill a bunch of stuff, and if one side controls the AI then the whole thing falls apart.
The player side needs a challenge but need to feel like "Gods" against weaker enemies, and if players controlled the enemies then how could you possibly give incentives for constantly losing?
This seems like terrible game design. |

Yeah cuz as we all know zombie survival mode in CoD was sooooo unpopular.....and you know Glaga. (and every other arcade game ever made ever)
And yeah sure no one would want to suicide bomb LOIs or EON uncontested districts....who could possibly want to do that? |

You are wrong about the models....CCP is incompetent i agree it would take them a decade to do it....but that is sort of the point of the post. Any half decent game maker with similar resources could kludge this together in a couple of months
Asynchronous would be like spys vs mercs in that splinter cell game. I think Crysis 3 has something similar. |

Don't have to.
Come November the PS4 will have Planet Side 2 free to play....We can compare results then.
CCP was given the golden Goose....then they starved the poor thing to death. |
