That CCP Blam respected and represented the suggestions and ideas of the Dust community... Well, that's all out the window now. |

I doubt the guy is out to shaft us for no reason, but we need to make it clear that some of this stuff is just bad ideas. |

Because they can make Aur versions of the above mentioned stuff and make money.
Making this game better costs them money however making this game into a F2P but P2 "Get ahead" is the name of the game.
Oh wait......................did you think CCP really cares about us and our opinions?
Ahhhh, I am sorry.

And what's really funny is the mods on here will edit out the "Sh*t" in my subject line but won't actually reply to any of these concerns we are posting about. |

Serimos Haeraven wrote:Before the recent announcements, i really did think that CCP Blam respected and represented the suggestions and ideas of the Dust community... Well, that's all out the window now. Reflecting on the announcements that there will soon be an 'anti-air' tank and a bomber dropship, only one real thought came to mind; why are none of the good points and ideas that we as a community make actually implemented at all, or even truly taken seriously? It's the one major difference that separates Dust and EvE, being that all of the content that's being brought into the console realm is kept top secret until it's about to come out, with abolutely no roadmaps what-so-ever to let us know if they really are paying attention to our ideas and suggestions, and sure enough once they tell us what they were actually working on this whole time, it was the exact opposite of what any of the community were asking for. Whereas in EvE players are literally able to shape how the game is run by their own thoughts and ideas as long as they are good and well-informed enough. I don't understand.. I don't understand. You really had me going when you replied to my forum with this CCP Blam: CCP Blam! wrote:Hi guys, let me provide you guys with provide some feedback on this topic.
1. We are looking at doing re-balancing of our AV weapons. One of the topics, which also seems to be showing through on this thread is to keep a decently long enough range on the forge gun, but also look at the damage decay variable over time on it, optimal ranges, etc. Because agreed, that it is a very potent anti-vehicle weapon and it's not exactly something that is easily countered with countermeasures (see next point). We also don't want the forge gun to be nerfed to the point of feeling ineffective, so a direct reduction of damage output across the board is not going to be the simple answer there.
2. We are also want to get countermeasures in soon, as well as a lock-on warning system for players piloting vehicles that have been locked on to. The lock-on indication will be a graduated indicator so that you will have a decent idea of how imminent your time to impact is and can choose to act accordingly. Furthermore, we're also working on porting lock-on to a certain subset of turrets. This will come in helpful for dropship pilots who are engaged in dogfights, or supporting assaults against ground units.
3. As one of our immediate tasks, we want to look at how we can provide dropship pilots with more chances to earn WP. We have lots of ideas in mind, however we need to tread carefully on this one so that we're not opening up too many opportunities for exploit. Some of the ideas that are bouncing around are providing WP for players spawned into your craft, WP for use of active scanners (possibly more specialized ones), and finding a way to re-introduce WP for remote repairs without exploit.
4. We will be reducing the ISK cost of dropships so that players can get into them more easily, while also looking at the overall skill cost of this class of vehicle.
5. Lastly, we're aware of turret issues that have come up. Many of the improvements needed will require code support to fix lingering bugs as well as further flesh out existing systems. We are currently working on this as our next set of code fixes. And after that comment was made, 1 month passed.. Still no new updates for the dropship... 2 months passed... It's okay they will eventually handle-up on their promise... 3 months passed, they addressed the price by cutting it by 1/3rd, still making the prices just as high because they raised the price of turrets as well... 4 months passed... still have completely skipped out on the WP issue. And now we have come to this, bomber dropships and anti-air tanks. I'm at a loss of words CCP Blam, i really am.
Sadly... welcome to New Eden

Dropships don't really fit Dust 514 yet. They are useful for planting some high-ground beacons, but if the pilots are allowed to hover around the field instead of actually fighting (worse if they have gunners and passengers), they usually end up causing a loss for the whole team.
I used to put a lot of effort into shooting down dropships, but they basically ensure that the tiny ground-forces will be uneven when 1-3 more militia assault rifles would make a bigger difference. |

In dropship's defense the only viable one is the ADS (which a useful fit costs 1.1 mil) and even then when i can rake in kills because of my flying skill, if there's 1 forge gun on the ground or 1 rail gun sniper i am pretty much useless. Granted i can often respond to the forge gunners pretty effectively sometimes, railgun tanks get me every single time. And now they are putting in "Anti-Air" tanks too.. HOW ARE THE RAILGUN TANKS NOT ANTI AIR? |

LOL at believing CCP Blam has any clue on how to fix anything wrong with this game. He is clueless at this point and is more than likely spending most of his time doing job interviews instead trying to fix this game.
Dropships are the perfect example at how clueless CCP really is at making a AAA FPS.
At this point they should just make a free version of the DS just like the free LAV and allow all you Dropship pilots another respec. |

There is much bigger problems with the game than this, calm down and wait or quit the game, that's all you got to do. also about these these roles coming out. are they out now? no. so don't complain about something you know nothing about. |

Seems as though this is CCP's way of developing.

So what if any pilot experience does CCP Blam have in the world of gaming? If he has no experience than he literally has no idea what he is doing.
Sounds alot like the rest of the dust dev team, remind me what fuxfour did before working for ccp's dust team? Oh yeah he played EVE!!!
Im beginning to think ccp has no clue whatsoever what their roadmap even is, due to such poor profit levels. |

I knew that when i made a post like this; complaining that CCP seriously isn't listening to any useful suggestions that i would get a reply like this, so I'm not that suprised. To say that I don't know a lot about dropships right away would be completely false, if anything the most important aspect about updates is how they actually work in the gameplay environment, instead of looking at a spread sheet of statistics and saying to themselves "Hey yeah that should kind of work!". If you think they know anything about what they have been developing recently you're just about as clueless as the blueberries. And you even pointed it out yourself in your attempt to criticize my argument, There are multiple flaws in the game mechanics as it is, and for them to scurry over them in an attempt to add more apparent substance is to no avail because nearly all of the current vehicles have certain attributes that make them 1. Either completely overpowered (Railgun sniper tanks using the redline), and 2. LAV's (mostly the "murder taxi" being able to run over people going 3 mph while being tougher than a 1.1 million dollar dropship). And then you have the underpowered vehicles, primarily being dropships such as the logi class. |
