The idea is sound but it also makes me think that jumping is actually a tactical part of the game. When playing as a scout, I navigate the map entirely differently than when playing as my Gallente medium as I use armour plates and can't jump as high. I think part of the tactical gameplay is to know these limitations and understand them, using them to your advantage when you can see others in these situations.
With that said, I do not object to the idea. I also think GÇ£oGÇ¥ should be used when vaulting, as GÇ£xGÇ¥ might produce unintended vaults of railings that you are simply jumping near. |

A heavy/armor tanker will take longer to vault over a railing than a scout/shield fit. This so much. I think that the difference should be quite severe, so that really the only time a heavy or armour tanked suit should use this would be for convenience, a risky escape or a planned tactical advantage. Heavy suits should take maybe 3-5 seconds, with armour plates making the vault time closer to 5 seconds. Medium frames should take between 1-2 seconds, with armour plates increasing the time closer to 2 seconds. I'm not a mathemitician so any precise numbers someone could work put would be cool. |

Gaelon Thrace wrote:Vaulting should be tied to sprinting. If you sprint directly into a waist high object you vault over it. If you're already standing right next to it you can just press sprint toward it to vault over. Fixed it for you.
Also, I still think it should be a contextual button press. How often do you saunter into cover? More likely you're sprinting into cover to avoid fire and oops! You just vaulted over making yourself a perfect target.
I think the reasons already listed are reason enough to make it a button press of circle: - No accidental vaulting when jumping (so it can't be GÇ£xGÇ¥). - No sprinting because you often sprint into cover, vaulting over the railing or box you were trying to use as cover is bad. |
