Finally! I've been waiting for this kind of setup since I started playing DUST. I really don't think it should be set to the default controls though as this has caused many confusing moments for players. Why? 1) the control legend that appears is way too briefly displayed to be of any use, and 2) players don't tend to like DEVs coming in and changing their game settings without notice whether prior or belated - just tell us that it's an option and if we wish to use it we will.
Anyway, as an LAV driver, I can now handle my vehicle much more accurately. Before, it was near impossible to do a tight turn at full speed or anywhere near fast because pushing the analogue to the right halted acceleration as if turning the steering wheel made my clone take his foot off the pedal (lol). I did get used to the previous control scheme after a while but always found it somewhat lacking. The only downside for me now is that I can't look directly behind me with the push of a button, which I always used whilst reversing, and often when another vehicle was in pursuit of me. When I noticed that look-back was not present in this control scheme I thought that maybe the camera rotation had been altered to allow looking backwards, but that is not the case. Oh well, I'll just have to adapt again.
An overall good job CCP. |

Are you positive that you can't look back? Pretty sure they had this control scheme prior to 1.2 and the look back was one of the directional buttons (I believe the right D-Pad). It isn't too helpful if you're a driver who likes to drive backwards, unless you can figure out a way to press it with your index finger while keeping your thumb on the left stick. |

K, I'll have to check that out, although I didn't notice it when looking at the control scheme in the options. |
