in New Eden people are always asking for free ISK, its nothing new, do u think he is actually going to give u a psn code for the ISK??? lol he is just going to take ur ISK if u send it to him and there is nothing illegal about it. u cant report people for this there is nothing that can be done about scammers in New Eden except not giving them ISK. |

Scamming for ISK is part of New Eden. You need to learn to live with it. |

ah but the point isn't the isk. its the psn codes, scamming people about that is a crime under sonys bylaws. one that is punishable with total PlayStation banning from the network. |

I guess that point is valid, sense is isn't for real money it doesn't fall under any illegal activity act. other free to play mmo's i have played took time to inforce against these kind of scams. i don't see why ccp takes such a backseat to this kind of activity. |

because other mmos are not a true sandbox the way eve is... here the players rule the roost and make the history and stories of eve... not the devs

Because these kind of things have helped Eve attract more players for ten years. Yes, you heard me correctly. This stuff actually attracts players. Believe it or not, everyone seems to have an inner Loki in them. As long as real world money is not involved and that no accounts were hacked, the scam is fine. I'm pretty sure Sony is aware of this too and knew what CCP allows when they made the exclusivity contract. |

Yes. But ISK for Real Money scamming is not. If he wants to scam he should start an ISK doubling or tripling service. They are quite popular or so I hear. |

You should use Spero Escrow for these types of transactions. Although I'm not sure he handles PSN code transactions. |

ya scamming for isk within dust is fine, but if they are getting account info or anything of that nature then it needs to be stopped.
it's unclear if you are saying it's a threat on your account, if it's not meh... |

Judging from the context of the original post, it sounds like the scammer doesn't really have a PSN code and is just luring people into depositing ISK with no guarantee of getting the PSN code.
But let's make this very clear to you, Wolfman, and everyone else. CCP has a zero-tolerance policy against RMT operations and bot-use within their game.
RMT is real-money trading in which one player pays real-world cash to another player for ISK. This is considered illegal to CCP. After all, in Eve Online, Eve players can use the PLEX system as a secure alternative which is specifically designed to undermine RMT operations.
Bot use is basically using a third-party program that automated everything that you do to the point that a computer is playing the game for you for hours on end without breaks while you are away doing something else in real life. This is also considered illegal and also dangerous to the user because the bot makers are often involved in RMT rings and thus use the program that they sold to the user as a means of hacking into the user's account which often results in the accounts being cleaned out leaving the user with nothing.
Now, if you are talking about your typical Jita scam or margin trade scam or double-your-ISK scams, then yeah those are perfectly legal in the game. |
