Swarms put out between 4 and 6 missiles per salvo, 4 for militia/standard, 5 for advanced and 6 for prototype
I use them fairly often and yes there is the odd firing bug which i believe is due to latency, but the reduction in missile numbers still seems to put out the same damage as far as i can tell so far |

Thanks, this is exactly it! I tested by holding down fire button longer, and four rockets instead of two came out. Didn't realise at all that it needed holding down.
you dont need to hold it down to release all the swarms, it automatically fires all of them once you have a lock and release the fire button

Gigatron Prime wrote:Leveling up the SW skill gives it a ******** bonus of 10% more swarms. Why not make it one more in the clip like the SR pistol? Imagine if the SR pistol gave you 10% more in the clip per level. That's 50% more at max, only giveing you about 2.5 or 2 extra shots in the clip.
So 50% of 4 for SW is 2....
At max level you only get 2 extra swarms for a total of 6 at max level. Even for prototype!!
its 10% clipsize per level, not 10% swarm amount per level

you dont need to hold it down to release all the swarms, it automatically fires all of them once you have a lock and release the fire button Here's the evidence: When I just clicked to fire, I shot two rockets. When I hold down fire, I shoot four. How does your hypothesis explain the evidence?
I've been using swarms pretty much every match since chromosome
I also don't see how you can click to the fire the swarms, you need to hold the fire button to lock onto your target, to fire you would have to release the button, once the button is released and the swarms are firing, your fire button is disabled for a while before you can lock the target again. |

How does your hypothesis explain the evidence? That makes no sense because you need to hold down the fire button to 'lock on' before you can fire. If you simply tap the fire button, you didnt lock on so you cant fire. It just sounds like a very weird bug to me. At max level you only get 2 extra swarms for a total of 6 at max level. Even for prototype!! What? 10% 'clip' size per level, max at 50% at lvl 2 you gain one extra rocket to shoot before needing to reload at lvl 5 (or4, not sure yet) you get 2 extra rockets to shoot before needing to reload, totalling to 5 3 + 50%= 3 + (3 x 0.5) = 4.5 (CCP rounds it up) so its 5, not 6. You get 2 extra rockets to shoot before you need to reload. Slap on a proto swarm and some light damage mods and you will down most armored and light shield vehicles before ever needing to reload. Its a straight upgrade like militia swarm's 2 rocket magazine to standard swarm's 3 rocket magazine. Its anything but useless. Compared to the SR pistols bonus, it's laughable. They get 5 extra shots per clip at max level.
I dont think you've noticed, but the swarm launcher isnt an anti-infantry weapon |

Gigatron Prime wrote:And that has to do with the SW bonus compared to the SR pistol's bonus how?
So at advanced level, you are suggesting that an extra 3000 damage at the very least on an already powerful AV weapon is a good idea?

Also increasing the clipsize of the swarm launcher to anything past 6 is useless as that is the maximum ammo you can carry If you really want to buff an already powerful weapon, then the only thing to do is to give it 6 clipsize at max level instead of 5 8 is max ammo, with the 25% clip size and all. God I hate saying 'clip' for a rocket launcher.
ahh you mean the 5% maximum ammo, i forgot about that as i cant be bothered putting sp into it, a nanohive is more than enough for ammo |
