guys this is game breaking so hopefully if we show them this they will fix it!
for my first time ever (on an alt) I sat in the MCC for an entire match and being that its x3 sp week I made 18000 sp for my lack of effort.
so I guess thats around 6k before x3 sp....
CCP, why should I fight if I gain more doing nothing than I do participating?
granted, you certainly can earn more participating, but not too much more and at the expense of suits (isk) cause you will die oh, and by the way I made around 180k isk as well lounging around in the MCC...
so ive come to the conclusion that CCP wants you to stay in the MCC because as of yet they have done NOTHING to fix this!
I will repeat this is truly game breaking and needs fixing... maybe if we all just MCC camp and deprive CCP of their coveted metrics they will see this for themselves.
I request CCP does something about this immediately!
thank you. |

Prangstar RND wrote:the op creator may be a **** for sitting in the MCC but he is correct that it needs fixing. I would just say, 0 kills and 0 warpoints = no reward. Its the easiest thing in the world to get some warpoints. get your nanohive out and throw it anywhere is almost a guaranteed 10 wp's. I would also suggest removing idle players from the game after a certain timeset.
I want to be clear... because of rumors of how much sp and isk you can get for doing nothing I needed to try it myself to get the facts before I made a post about it... I in no way condone mcc camping nor do I practice it... I only did it to see for myself what an atrocious oversight this is on CCPs end and to post about it in hopes of getting something done to fix it.
thanks for taking the time to read this thread and post |

MCC camping needs a fix.
Anyone positioned within or on top of the MCC for more than 21 seconds needs to be kicked from the game match.
Anyone that has not gained any WP within 5 minutes at the start of the match should be kicked from the match.
I agree with the time limit on the MCC but I think the wp earning part is just a tad harsh... think of new players in match getting proto stomped... sometimes it takes a bit to get your first wps.
if they would just fix camping in the MCC and for that matter sitting in the red line the problem would be solved
thanks for the post! |

Baku Amad wrote:First off https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1027818#post1027818Second the comments of redline camping annoy me. I agree somewhat that it needs to be fixed. But i can generally snipe people out of their redline so its never really been an issue for my squads unless for some reason nobody can damage you due to a redline damage glitch. Or for some reason you dont render due to redline. Other than that i say sit in the redline all you want im more than happy to relieve you of your heads. And well i can gaurantee you will be more worried and distracted by me than you will be by the playing field. And if i can personally take a couple persons eyes off the action i have done my team a favor. Even if im only tying up one guy ive at least leveled the playing field
red line sniping is one thing... but sitting behind cover for the duration of the map is just as bad as MCC camping and was more along the lines of why I believe this needs a fix as well. |

pseudosnipre wrote:As mentioned in other posts, MCC campers will simply become ground-spawn campers or rubberband their controller so they constantly run into a wall.
Any suggestions to prevent the above AND not kick snipers or redlined mercs would be welcome. I recommend making mobile MCCs a higher priority.
the easiest solution is sp for wp period. as for isk a flat fee for a win or loss multiplied by each wp gained may work. but as ive stated previously CCP doesn't seem to like it when you give them solutions they like being the heroes in that respect.... |

low genius wrote:it's game breaking if you: have no squad you run with regularly, or play pick up matches. you won't find afkers in faction battles very often.
its game breaking because CCP is giving us the opportunity you reap massive reward for absolutely 0 effort. and whats to stop an entire squad of vets w/alts to do this, say on a second ps3 to accrue easy sp while they proto stomp that same team with their alts on the opposing team... this is one possible example of how out of control something like this could get.

CCP could fix this with a more comprehensive tutorial...new player experiences shouldn't give bitter vets avenues of exploitation....but the kick after 5 min with no wp is too harsh imo. |

Baku Amad wrote:And yet more comments discussing something that's been suggested and shot down for multiple reasons. Please read and reply to my previous post. I put out what i believe to be a decent idea and a reasonable fix. Please give feedback good or bad and stop the qq. Im going to assume your all older than five so please start behaving like it and give decent arguments on the issues we have. Crying about it does nothing. Nobody wants to listen to a self entitled pompous a**hat so please stop acting like one. Rant over
I have already stated that your approach is a step in the right direction , and ive also commented that CCP by their past actions and inaction have proven themselves to be uninterested in players solutions and tend to be more receptive of constructive criticism laying out their personal experience of how particular mechanics hurt the game... they like to create the solutions. what you call QQ I call unified dissent... something CCP has been receptive to in the past. for an example read up on the eve incarna expansion. for a more recent example of CCPs deaf ears to our solutions just read all the good ideas in these forms that were side stepped in favor of fixing the caldari female walking animations....our continued out cry will have the effect we desire long before any one players solution gets implemented.
as always thanks for your passion and your time to post on this matter. |

I understand that it lowers the perceived value of SP or ISK gained by those who participate, but you do get a lot more SP and ISK from taking part, blowing up tanks etc.
The only thing you lose by playing instead of farming is ISK and it's up to you how much ISK you lose.
this is actually not true... lets say you have a really bad match where you get say 300 wp and die 7 times... if you had just camped the MCC you actually get more sp and isk than if you participated...and bad matches aside I was in a match where my team won and I MCC camped and got 18000 sp and then I was in a match where I participated and my tean lost and got 15000... I tested this and on average my statement holds true... but aside from this lowering the perceived value of isk and sp for participators is enough... its demoralizing and frustrating and makes the whole experience less fun |

Were the matches exactly the same length etc as these details matter when you're determining how much SP or ISK you get.
that is probably the case but my point is why should I ever get less for participation than camping |

RINON114 wrote:I don't really understand why this is such a big problem. Stop playing if all you want is SP and ISK, if you play for the reward of destroying that bastard's tank, or that proto suit who keeps killing everyone (like I do) then stay.
your lack of understanding doesn't make this a non issue and your assumption that isk and sp are all I play for is uninformed at best...
to keep it simple for you this unbalances a game where its supposed to be 16v16 when you have players handicapping their team by not participating or risking anything and earning almost as much or more than you.... would you accept less pay than someone else for the exact same job?

That would at least make the mcc a no afk zone. As for non mcc afkers, just set an engagement timer. If they don't engage in combat. (Take or deal damage) after a certain period of time they get kicked from the match. so im flying a dropship and just dropping people off but because noone hopped on a gun or shot at me im now kicked....real smart
if all your doing is flying around in a dropship and doing absolutely nothing else, you are being pretty useless imo... a design flaw on CCPs part to have such a role... perhaps...having a mobie cru aboard though should fix that... |
