Can someone explain the tech levels?
I know they are in EvE but how do they are implemented in Dust? |

At the moment i dont think they have been implemented as yet.
But based on my (minimal) experience in EvE i would say the Basic Suits are your Tech 0 (I don't know what they call the ships without a tech level), the Specializations will be your Tech 1 stuff and Tech 2 has not yest been included.

We have them; I would actually consider light/medium/heavy to be tech 1
tech 2 would be sentinel, commando, assault, logistics, and scout.
Vehicles also have this. |

I do not expect tech levels to be introduced to Dust 514 at all. The Basic/Advanced/Prototype system is the Dust equivalent.
the suit roles (assault/logi/scout/sentinel) are not quite tech2, although they bear some similarities, such as the idea of role specialization. The vehicles roles LAV -> LLAV are a bit closer to how tech2 works in EVE, but not quite. |

The closest thing to tech levels in Dust are the dropsuit and vehicle specializations; i.e. basic medium frame == tech 1, assault/logistics frame == tech 2 or basic LAV == tech 1, scout/logi LAV == tech 2. I don't think you can use tech levels to compare standard, advanced, and proto relationships. Those are more like frigate, cruiser, and battleship relationships in Eve. |

they are already broken up into meta level like eve.
meta 5 is tech 2... above that you have faction, officer etc
however the difference in dust is they don't use the term tech 1 or 2 they just keep it to meta level |
