Thank god too... its so much better as a three round burst weapon.

A little more optimal range it would be amazing for people like me who prefer the ~50-60m engagement range... its not terrible in cqc either if you know how to strafe.

Tried out the GK-13 Burst AR for awhile. I liked the scope and all, but stopped using it for two reasons. Firstly the recoil while zoomed in is significant, and I was having trouble getting all 3 rounds of the burst to land. This combined with the fact that it does the same damage per shot as the GEK-38, and that the burst mechanic leads to a slower effective RPM, made me feel like the gun was less effective than the GEK for general use. Also, the scope had me shooting at things that were outside my effective range (although hard to tell without in-game ranges). I have AR Operation 5 but sharpshooter is only at 1, maybe this makes a difference.

Ultimately I ended up switching to the GLU tactical AR because of the improved range and increased damage per shot. The problem now is that its the worst in CQC, which means its not the best choice for my logi suit. So I use the GEK on my logi and the GLU on my assault, which has the benefit of a SMG for CQC.

And the Combat Rifle should be superior to the Burst if I read Remnants posts correctly.
