The ability to see uplinks so easily really limits strategy. I would limit the ability to see them unless they are inside that smallest circle on the minimap. I think this may help with the nearly constant redlining on skirmish also. Some well hidden uplinks could change one sided map. Now the only way to keep your uplinks from being destroyed right away are using glitches or a dropship because its simply annoying to call in your own just to destroy some uplinks.
Opinions? |

Okay I see what you mean and I sort of agree.
Another problem is that you can see them from miles away too.
All drop suits should be able to see uplinks at a certain range tho.

Not only uplinks, even nanohives, every deployable equipment is a light in the dark. Is like saying: Hey, i'm here alone come and kill me. |

I recommend:
Make detecting them based on your scan precision vs their scan profile (after passive scan is fixed and modified to actually be useful) Make equipment glow be dependent on your team (Enemy equipment has a red glow, ally equipment has a blue glow) Make all equipment taller (thus easier to shoot at)
I imagine a larger uplink looking something like a mini-CRU. |

Or, higher tier equipment could be stealthier, or at least have special variants.
For example, the current, extremely obvious equipment could perform really well; while a different variant is slower, but harder to see/scan |

Just fit 4 different types of Drop Uplinks on a 4 slot logi and throw it around one objective, then switch character from a supply depot. You are winning team no matter. |

I tend to agree.
Perhaps they could become a bit less prominent on radar?
Perhaps higher skill could make them more stealthy?
