It's ridiculous really for how weak the suits are.
Scouts are a total sp sink right now, I've already skilled out of mine but I do run it occasionally if I want a quick few deaths.
I was going to go with hacking on my scout but I'm still torn on it. After checking out the Minimatar Logi suit, I realize that hacking shouldn't be a focus. I might drop one or two ranks into it but I'm uncertain, still. On one hand, I feel like the role of the scout can be a speed hacker (running to hack and fleeing before being caught) but at the same time, that doesn't exactly seem the 'right' way to play my scout. I'm new so I'm probably doing it 'wrong'.
I feel like I should be avoiding being the forward hacker - that's basically asking my guy who is tissue paper to hopefully manage to hack and capture a node when I could, instead, be planting remote explosives/droplinks in areas and hunting for enemy droplinks/nanohives to take out while keeping an eye out for potential enemy clones to merc as I relay information about where the enemy is concentrated to my squad/team. That doesn't mean I wouldn't be hacking when the opportunity arises, however, but I'd want to make sure that the enemy is far enough away that they're not going to catch me. This could be more stealth than speed.
Basically, hacking is ridiculously expensive and I have no clue what I'm doing on my scout.
Also; I wish we received WP for destroying enemy droplinks/nanohives. Five points wold be nice. Counter-Hacking along with vehicle hacking, too. Anything that is helping the team win, even if it is a war of attrition. |

Yeah, I get hat logic completely and agree but it seems like I would rather focus on the stealth factor to hack rather than speed hack it. Sometimes I even just like to briefly hack something to draw some enemies away from another node in order to allow my team to capture that one. Start the hack until I see them coming on the radar and dip out - sometimes the hack completes, sometimes not. It's not always necessary to complete the hack if the match is going well or if it's more beneficial to draw enemy clones away.
In one match I just went around and dropped remote explosives at unattended nodes, start the hack, wait for dudes to start coming for me before peacing out as they arrived in confusion before eating thermite from my explosives. Basically, I'm just trying to avoid actually fighting anyone and being as far away as possible at all times while knowing where the enemy is.
My dude is still a newb, so sooner or later I will probably drop some points into it. Avoiding overspecializing is avoiding a slow death. It's better to be flexible. |
