Back in Chromosome I used to run a scout with dual scrambler pistols, was so much fun. Sadly now with the introduction of the Commando suit I have abandoned the scrambler pistols. With 2 light weapon slots I have been running around with the scrambler rifle and used the second as an excuse to carry a laser rifle. If only there were a suit with 2 light weapons and 1 sidearm. |

Back when I ran dual scrambler pistols I found that it was the ammo capacity holding it back from being a true primary weapon, not the clip size. |

You are my hero. Thanks for the link. I have nowhere near 2.5 mil to invest (I got my HMG proficiency to level 5 today just because), but I will consider your build for when I do have enough skill points saved up. I am so anxious to try out a dual pistol build that I'm on the verge of screaming out "RESPEC!" Eh, I feel the same way about the Carthum Assault Scrambler Pistol as I do about the Carthum Assault Scrambler Rifle, which is coincidentally the same way the first comment in the link feels. It takes up way too much CPU/PG for what is only a marginally better weapon. Not to mention the differences in cost. I say you are better off using a standard or advanced version while still leveling up the skill for the +1 clip size per level (best weapon operations skill bonus ever!) and working on proficiency.
Also with my Commando suit I notice the passive bonus for reload speed applies to sidearms as well. It sounds silly, but this thread has got me considering doing a dual pistol commando fit. Since I already have the skills (well, may Scrambler Pistol Ops is only at 2) I will buy a few of these trial fits and come back here with feedback. |

From what small amount of matches I played, the dual pistols worked well with the assault suit. I purposely veered from Scouts because they are squishier than ever and Heavy frames seem too slow to emulate the twitch FPS style I was gearing towards. If the commando works well with the pistol combo, then I'd like to see a little demo of it in action. Tried it, it's terrible. The commando has better movement than a basic heavy but still not enough to make dual pistols viable. Enemies can easily break out of range of the pistol while still in range for their AR. The reload speed is faster but only marginally. may be worth it if you want to put it in one of the sidearm spots, but definitely not both. |

I can't tell you how many times the scrambler pistol saved me life. Just this morning I was corned by a Matari flaylocker and managed to pull off the headshot just in time with 2 armor to spare.
The breach is pretty decent, that's how I used to run my dual SP build (one assault for basic attacks then a breach if I neeed that one shot now). The burst variant is kind of broken though, especially how it doesn't like up with the +1 clip size per level bonus. |
