I don't want this game easier. I want Dust to be Dust. Just like EVE that has a reputation to be ruthless if you don't train and even do homework/study.
And you know what that does? It betters the experience. How? Because the people within the gaming world are dedicated and they help shape the universe, which causes for better immersion and focused gameplay.
You make this thing accessible like COD or something, and we will have a buttload of people who just doesn't take it seriously coming into game. They will be more murder taxis. More people who run around solo trying to be the hero. More people who won't even wait for their Logi to revive them. Lastly, there will be numerous threads complaining about their shenanigans
It will change the experience as whole. At least that's how I see it.
Dust kicked my kitten when I first arrived but I just couldn't settle with that idea. The fact that it was hard and not easily accessible made me push myself more. I came to this forum for help and guidance. I talked with folks who helped me along. And as I put one foot in front of the other, the game became more accessible. The equations began to look like simple arithmetic instead of complicated algorithms.
So in short? TL:DR? Go hard or go home. It's almost like boot camp. Those fit to be mercs or those who have a chance will stick around. Those are the players you want to play against. You know they won't drop out of matches when the tides turn and will give you a good challenge.
I agree that dust shouldn't be easier, but it should be more seamless in its gameplay imo and feel bigger.. you know.. Its supposedly a Massively multiplayer online first person shooter. Not just a multiplayer online First person Shooter.
Amother Idea for PVE.... Why not make incursions areas in EVE flag up in dust... The mercs could kill sanshas minions and rescue slaves from captives from holding areas before they get taken. Kind of a co-op mode for dust.
I agree it should bigger but let me add that CCP wants it big. Reading up on Dust, even before its arrival to PS3, the devs has expressed numerous times their big dreams for this project. It's a huge, ambitious undertaking. I mean, this is the first time (for what its worth) that you have console gamers linked to PC gamers. Yea, it isn't much but it is a step taken in a new direction that hasn't been done before.
The game itself still has plenty of work that needs to be done (of course that goes without saying). So as far is it being seamless, I think we must understand that in order to get there, we gotta have the foundation set in stone. Right now that is not the case. Reason why we are experiencing constant changes or bumps in the road as CCP tinkers with ideas and such.
CCP seems to like that slow roast coffee instead of that carnation instant breakfast. But that's good. It helps point out the problems instead of a massive overhaul and small things are overlooked once the product is final. Ha, somewhat like how Bungie studios had an overpowered pistol in the first Halo. I'm pretty sure if time constraints weren't an issue, they would have dialed down its power before release. So slow and steady is good IMO.
And about that idea, you should fine tune that and present it to CCP. It's great because CCP actually listens even though they respond and say "Soon" LOL!
